I’m sorry why do people think it’s the US? Just look at the friendly fire rate and lack of discipline in the recent conflicts in Afghanistan and even more in Iraq. For cannon fodder (Grunts) I think Western European and Australian are pretty equal (but I voted UK coz I’m British :D)

Of course the US has the best military, but it certainly isn't the best-trained or most intelligent.

Probably the US, if only by default. The US military sets the security tone for the rest of the world, by its developement of arms and strategies.

Because Arab's idea of a soldier is any guy off the street with an AK. They only have untrained militia, and well trained Israeli troops cut through them like knife through butter. Also Israel has a lot of vehicles and helicopters from USA, which it gets in exchange for the most recent discoveries in medicine, and weaponry (for example, that thing on pilot's eye which aims the gun to wherever he looks at was developed by Israel).

It wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms was it? It was under constant scrutiny which was ridiculous. That's like me getting upset at Schindler's List because it paints Germans in a bad light (I am of German decent.) It's history. If you don't like it go live in a box and repeat it someday.

That's because of their high specialization. The CIA was once good at specializing, too. It was perfect in Eastern Europe during the Cold War, and wonderful at training paramilitaries then. It hasn't yet adapted to new threats. Similarly, if the rest of the Middle East vanished tommarrow, and the EU or US declared open hostility, then the Mossad would be woefully unprepaired for it.

Well, to be fair, they also managed to stop invasion of a shitload of countries AT THE SAME TIME, whose population overpowered Israels by 10-1, and even won a lot of land (Sinai peninsula).
