I'd like to see one of those egg fish lol
I study French and Spanish and will be picking up German next year hopefully. All I can say at the moment is "My egg hurts!" Why is egg such a key word?
I speak barely conversational Japanese and not-so-conversational French. :)

French (with typical French accent), Quebequer *it really is a language on its own, with typical joual accent*, English (a mix of accents because I learned from various sources), some Spanish and a smattering of Italian

How exciting and international. I'm a sad languages geek, I know (I love grammar) but I just love it. The uni I'm going to is really mixed so I'm all excited. Lots of oriental people, my boyfriend is going to learn mandarin.

Wow... written out, Portuguese isn't massively different from Spanish, but when you hear it spoken it crazy! It makes you sound like the Elephant Man!!!!!!
I'm pretty lucky, my boyfriend is fluent in French (he lived there for years when he was very young) so I get lots of nice oral practice (oh... ha ha ha) and henceforth my accent has improved dramatically!

What Portuguese sounds like depends massively on where the speaker is from. I live in Brazil, and the Portuguese and Spanish from South America are mutually comprehensible, written or spoken. (The Argentines refuse to understand Portuguese if you are Brazilian, but understand it well if you speak English to them first)
My sister, however, lives in Spain (Andalucia), and she can not understand spoken Portuguese at all, nor can I understand the Spanish spoken by my nephews. (We are an English family so I speak to her in English, just to confuse things further).

Hahahahaha I wish my heritage was that complicated. The worst I get is Hertfordshire! I've learnt both French and Spanish from scratch, so I speak Castellano and my French accent is fairly generic (not Parisien thank God) so I don't really have that problem. I know Spanish speakers from Castilla y Leon, Galicia and Mexico but I find it hard to differentiate between them (except for the obvious differences like the Spanish lispy c and the Latin American 's' c).
