Soylent Green
So I watched Soylent Green a few months back, it wasn't the first time but it was a reunion with an old friend. So I came into work and was talking with the Japanese staff in the office and I told them I watched Soylent Green. They asked about it and I told them the basic plot but left out the ending. then I told them I would make them some soylent green.
The next morning I made green panacakes, squished them flat and sliced them into squares. I brought them into work and they passed them out. The staff sat there happily munching ( I put cinnamon and sugar to make them taste good) and then suddenly I pointed and began shrieking, "Its people!!!! You gotta tell'em its people!! Soon they will breed us like cattle!!"
The staff were dumbfounded. I explained the secret of the movie and they threw the remaining pieces at me. It was one of the best times I have ever had.

They look and sound more like green bathroom tiles than they do pancakes. You should have fed them the tiles.

I love my wife to death but sometimes the Japanese are quite strange. She is on the phone right now, talking to a private student I teach on the weekends. I have specifically heard her talking to my student about how I shit. Sometimes. . .

The Japanese can be quite...unique, at times. As proud as I am of my bowel movements, that's a new one to me.
It is very unnerving. If we are at a friends house and I need to use the toilet I can hear her yakking away about it with our friends and I'm thinking, WTH!! Can't a man have a little dignity!! A gun magazine and a roll of toilet paper.

No, had a friend who lived over there for a while so heard a few stories of him. Is there anime stuff over there that is way more off-the-wall than the stuff that gets exported to the states and Australia?

They have stuff here in regular book stores that would be quite illegal back home.
Hmm, some popular themes are high school/junior high school/elementary school rape. Tons of porn involving bowel movements, enemas and pissing. Much of it with underage themes.
It is strange. I am not sure why they have so much of this but it is not taken seriously or seen as anything more than something for a pathetic category of men.

hmm, well I have seen some of the stuff I posted about before (no I am not a buyer of it!!!!) as far as movies go honestly not too much. Umm, Devil Man? Lots of killing and violence and rape.
Ah wait!! My ex-roommate was heavy into porn. He rented some hentai anime once and I saw it. It was about four elementary school boys who molested and had sex with their high school aged tutor. That one just left me feeling wrong. But I had to live with the guy and he was a hard bastard who coulda kicked my ass and I wasn't about to antagonise him by saying he was a perve.

the only censorship they have is the blur over gentitalia. It is okay to rape that little girl just for godsakes don't show her privates.

That's quite different to the way things are here. I'd love to know more about the different types of censorship in different countries, especially when it comes to video games and how movies and other media is censored in comparisson [e.g. A rap album can swear every few words but you say 'shit' once in a video game and it nearly gets banned]. It's always something that has bothered me. It would be interesting to see the different effects on crime rates and other factors compared to the censorship and content of what gets made and distributed in different places.
However, it's late here and I need to get to sleep [like a couple of hours ago] so I'm signing off. Later.
