Maybe I missed something in the bible somewhere but I don't believe there's a verse stating "Thou shall encourage hate and violence against gays." A matter of fact, I do believe the entire theme of the second testament was love for your fellow man. Encouraging hate for these so called "sinners" does not help anyone. I don't believe that Jesus would hate gays seeing as such messages as love thy neighbour and turn the other cheek come into play. I cannot understand the sense behind your hate filled rantings when it seems to conflict heavily with large portions of the bible. This is your belief system, you are a pastor. You should study your own texts a little more carefully then read the bible, especially the second testament.

This may be a wasted e-mail, but I feel you should take what I said into account. You may quickly dismiss me as a "pinko fag-loving heathen" or words to that effect, but make sure you are indeed in line with your God's ideals, and not your own paranoid delusions. Hear from my "God" as such.

Don't even bother. Biggots like Phelps are not worth your time writting letters to. In fact, I think they relish the negative attention. Just let him be and make sure your vote and your work is dedicated to making sure people like Phelps never gain power in America.

I don't think it will do anything, a man like Phelps doesn't listen to critisism, or the outside world in any case.

But anyway.. People like Fred Phelps are closed minded or have closed their minds from the beginning. And he totally missed the point Jesus came, like a doctor to heal and help the sick, not condemn them they are sick.

Best way of helping him? Pray for him... that he would see that God loves sinners.

Actually Down System You should include bible verses if possible lah. (Sorry to lazy to find for you plus my pc bible is down.. and have been that way for months, I recommend doing some research into Paul's writings, especially Galatians, Romans and Corinthians).

And one thing I would talk about is the difference between Pharisee's and Jesus.

Pharisee's are the first to condemn people for their sins. Thinking people would repent their ways and change.

Jesus would welcome the worst sinner with open arms.
For it is by love, forgiveness & acceptance through Jesus that the renewing of one's mind comes.

As a Christian, the bible clearly says Homosexuality is a sin. Hands down. But it is no worser nor better than any other simple sin like stealing a pen from the office, or telling a lie to your friend that your the best lover in the world. A sin is a sin. No sin is different. Sin is still a sin.

Homosexuality I believe it's like smoking. It's something either spiritual or psychological to it. You can't tell a gay man to stop being gay because it's a sin.

They should be accepted and loved as a normal human being, and if they want to change their ways, we should be there for them to pray and help them whatever means necessary. Not be against them.

If they still want to continue in their homosexuality, it's up to them. You can't force Jesus on them. Jesus never forced anyone. The greatest obedience is one borned out of love, not fear.

I don't know, unless you write a nice letter saying his word is better than the Pope's and he is a true prophet, he'd probably ignore you.

Pretty good letter, though I seriously doubt it would do any good. Jesus himself could appear before him and say what he's doing is wrong and Phelps would just call him a heretic.

Being both gay and Swedish, I think I'll stay as far away from him as possible. :)

I feel like a broken record record saying this again but... no it doesn't. At least not clearly. All the verses about it outside of Leviticus are dubious at best, and prone to many different interpretations. People have been lead to believe that the Bible expressively says it's a sin because others have said so. Most don't bother to look it up on their own.
