OK, this is something Ive been thinking about for a while. First of, this isn't a "is reliigon good/bad?" thread. I was just wondering what happened to some of the older religions.

People go on about Jesus and Allah being real, and mocking them is seen as really offensive. But then you can pretty much say anything about the ancient religions of Roma Greece the Vikings and the Egyptions.

Why is it that these religions are seen as being clearly false, but Christianity, Islam, Jewadism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sihkism... are seen as possibilities. We have just about as much proof of for any of them.

Just wanted to see if anyone had any opinions really.

It's because the followers are offended, not the imaginary dude they worship. No followers (as in the case of the old Roman gods) = no offense taken.

WTF? Someone's been dissing Thor? LMAO MORONS! They're so gonna get smited. Or eaten by Ymir or Jarnsaxa, or maybe Fenrir. Ha. Sucks to be them, locked out of Valhalla until the Ragnarok. No honorable glorious dying in battle for them!
