I need cheering up

today was my bestest best friend in the whole world (supposedly), Ellen's birthday, so we went to the cinema and a meal to celebrate, it was horrible, I spent the entire time feeling invisible, i was completely ignored the whole time and then the best bit was at the end of the evening when i found out i wouldn't be able to get a lift back off my friend Hana because she, and everyone else there was going back to Ellen's house afterwards to stay over, so i had to go get a bus, from Blackpool town centre (not the safest place in the world), in a skirt, at 10pm, without a phone cause the battery had died, on my own! they didn't even come with me and make sure i got on the bus safely! they just left me! I feel like I'm being pushed out because i don't go to school with them anymore and it really hurts, these people have got me through some difficult times and I just miss having them as my friends so much

We think yer the cats meow, Tink - yer friends don't know what they're missing. Lucky us!

You can know a person most of your life and they'll turn on you just like that. You can't trust people who show no interest in you just because you don't participate in the same things any longer.

Think about it: Are they really your friends for doing that?

Don't listen to him Tink. Just look at it this way. Maybe they just don't know what to talk to you about. A lot of their life revolves around school. You're not apart of that anymore.

Well, it could be a different situation, but if those losers ditched me, they'd receive hell about it.

Look --- They should've at least offered her a ride home. There's ignoring somebody, and then there's leaving them in the dust.

Tell them how it made you feel sweetie. It will give you some sense of relief just getting it off your chest. Perhaps they were caught up in the evenings celebration. Thats no excuse, because had I been there out on an evening with the girls, I'd have made certain everyone got to where they needed to be safely-even if that meant me joining up with the others later. I see how many friends you have on this site, and how many people care about you on here, I can imagine its the same, to the 10th power, in real life :) . Tell them how it made you feel and how you miss them. They will most likely give you a hug and make more of an effort to be better friends.

It sounds like its possible maybe they dont know you felt left out and upset? I wouldnt jump right into it with them as they may still be well intentioned and feel you're over reacting. Its likely they werent aware you were scared to travel alone.

1)Close your eyes

2)Inhale, deeply (5-10 seconds), through your nose

3)Hold the breath for just a second or two

4)Exhale very slowly through your mouth (should take 5-10 seconds)

You should begin to feel relaxed.

Once you have achieved relaxation, go buy some ice cream (or beer) and a comedy movie .. watch and eat.

Is this a consistant thing? As you've been directly slighted, you won't be seeing it objectively. If this is a one-off, try not to get too down about it; sometimes people just don't think, yanno? But if stuff like this is regular, then painful as it is to think about, you probably do need to at least broaden your scope of friends, if not leave the old circle entirely.

then go rob someone and grab the ice cream.

I guess social groups are double edged swords, you're in vogue or out of fashion. Real friends should respect you irrespective of social circles.

I'm sorry to hear about the way you were treated. I've had certain friends for more than 15 yrs and haven't seen them in years and know I will never see them again... We've grown our separate ways, etc. It's how it goes, I guess...

However, I have a feeling you are much younger than me, and at a younger age, ESPECIALLY in a situation like you went through, it's much more painful. I guess growing apart over years (people getting married, moving around the country for jobs, etc.) is inevitable sometimes, but isn't quite the same as being WITH them and treated like that. That's just mean.

:fluffle: :fluffle: anyway... Hope you feel better...

I feel like I'm being pushed out because i don't go to school with them anymore and it really hurts, these people have got me through some difficult times and I just miss having them as my friends so much

Aww... Poor TInk. :(

Well, you've always got us here to talk to, and we'll always listen and be there for you. Someone here suggested you should tell those friends of yours how you feel, that their behaviour hurt you. If they're real friends, they'll apologise, and from there on your friendship can hopefully be mended. I'd give it a try if I were you.

Just because of what they did, doesn't mean they're no longer your friends, or that they don't care for you. Everyone can be insensitive at times, and not realise they're hurting people they care for, especially if you're in a group with several people. Don't read too much into it. If, as you say, they've been your friends for a long time and they've seen you through some hard times, then obviously they care about you. Think back on the good times you've had with them, and the things they've done for you; don't let one bad day spoil it all for you. Just try talking to them, or even just going out somwhere fun with them again soon, and see what happens.

Anyway, that's just my advice, for what it's worth. And if you need cheering up, you'll always find us here for you. We all love you. *hugs TInk*

Tink, I don't really know you, all I can tell you, is that, w/out making this about me as much as I can... Life will have some seriously painful ups and downs. Life can be perfect, then... SLAM! I won't go on. You will get through this. I see your s/n all over the place and it seems you have MANY MANY friends online and you seem like a very nice, fun person, as far as I can tell and from what I've read from others.

I PROMISE YOU ON MY LIFE that in time (how much I don't know), this will pass. It will be a painful period of time, and after many years, there will still likely be a period of occasional melancholy and nostalgia on and off, but you will get thru this, and from what I've seen of your personality, you will get through it well... and make many new friends... I don't know if you're in high school or college, but if you haven't hit college yet, it will likely be one of the most wonderful experiences you'll ever go thru. High school was a drag, college was so much fun I almost didn't make it from all the "fun"! :p After that, you will grow apart from many of your best friends, based on geographical changes, marriages, children, and general lifestyle changes. What someone was in high school is NOTHING like what they are 10 years later. You'll hurt now... I think you'll do fine and you'll get thru the pain... I didn't know you were in G.B. I have a few friends across the pond actually...

Wow this is turning into a novel with many tangents. So I'll stop now and just say, you're going to do great... I know it! You take care of yourselves... and if I were you, (and not everyone is as confrontational as I am), I'd ask my "so called" friends what the HELL was up when you went out and why you were treated as such.... Yeah... I could have said this all in one breath too... I talk FAST!!! :D

I trust you're going to do great! Trust that yourself, even thru the pain! :)

Stupid last thought... if their was no pain, you wouldn't know what enjoyment and happiness were! ;) OK ...Dorky, but you know what I mean... and I've hit the very very very bottom of the spectrum many times in my life, and the top as well...

You deserve some of these: :fluffle: :fluffle: :fluffle: :fluffle: :fluffle:

And to those who yell... "Get over it"... It's a slightly less sensitive way of, in my opinion, saying "I've been thru things and I got over it", so you can too. It won't happen in a day... but you have a loooong future girl!!! :)

Maybe this will help, Tink. Relationships are either for a season, reason or lifetime. It's not always easy to tell which category they fall into. But perhaps the season is over with these particular friends.

Erm... Jump into a pool of lava?

Works for me.

Or wash it... throughly...

It peels off eventually....

Warm water and scrubbing normally does it... Otherwise, it should come off easily when it dries, but I imagine you'd want it off now. ;)

Fingernail polish remover used to work anyway, not sure if that still works (haven't glued any of my body parts in a long time), but if you have sensitive skin probably better to let it come off on its own once you lose that layer of skin.
