My College Professor Wants Schiavo To Live

My philosophy professor, who, I believe, is also a Muslim, began our last class by "indoctrinating" us over Terri Schiavo. I thought this was hilarious, because when he was saying she should be kept alive, I was shocked. What? A college professor? Advocating.. a Conservative policy??

Most of my college professors never even mentioned politics. In my math classes, programming, and Psych of Human development, it wasn't mentioned. In Educational Psych, it was only related with the politics of schools (although they brought up the fact that crack and cocaine are the same drug, but with different punishments under the law). In Sociology, it ocassionally was brought up, but really, not too often. Most of our debates were about whether or not Sociology was valid, as a science. Many of us were Psych students and had clashes with it. And then, there's my Psych 101 and Social Psych professor. Politics were discussed, but always in an objective manner. The professor often said, "I don't know", and when politics were discussed, he mentioned how psychology would affect both candidates (such as the actor\observer effect, among policies--if Bush got caught getting a blowjob, he'd still be considered better than Clinton by conservatives--And if Bush's father got caught getting a blowjob, the DNC would've crucified him).

And now... a college professors argues for Schiavo's life?! Wow. Perhaps college professors aren't so liberal, after all. And this is a Philosophy professor. And a Muslim. Gosh.

Needless to say, I have decided to sue my college for 'indoctrinating' me. After hearing the lecture, for a split-second, the Conservative brainwashing kicked in and I thought, "Yeah. He's right about Schiavo", but then, I had another class and they fed me liberal propaganda once again, and all those thoughts went away.

I find it interesting that Democrats think Bush is guilty of ordering torture, even though there is no evidence to support it. They claim that he can't be trusted to investigate it, and that he should be tried for war crimes, etc., etc.

The very same Democrats won't hold Kofi Annan to the same standard, even though the evidence comes much closer to him than any ever came to Bush.

Republicans claim that Kofi can't be trusted to investigate it, and that he should resign, etc., etc.

Plutophobia, you need to get off this idea that assholes are only conservative. I have found that assholism is not belief-specific. Or "wing" specific, or even party specific.

Just like in the Bible, immorality can be greater with some groups more than others, although you're right.

Jesse Jackson also supports the replacement of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. It is hardly a left right issue, despite what democracy now has told you. (As Jackson himself has pointed out).

I presume this is a community college?

Might it be Terri Schiavo's by any chance? The syncronicity of this is too odd to be just pure coincidence...

What is wrong with putting Bush on trial ? If all the claims are baseless the court will say so, and the republicans can make long noses to the democrats.

The very same Democrats won't hold Kofi Annan to the same standard, even though the evidence comes much closer to him than any ever came to Bush.

I agree that Anan should also be put on trial, and all the charges should be explored. Then again, I'm not a democrat. Or a republican for that matter ;)

The lesson we learned from the Clinton impeachment is that it doesn't do any good to hold executives responsible for anything.

If you can't hold someone to account for a simple and small lie, what can you hold them responsible for?
