Getting Dumped

What are your views? Mine are plain - getting dumped sucks!

I got dumped by my g/f less than a week ago, and she's already shacked up with my now ex best friend. How low can you get, really? Does anyone know the answer. Yeah, being single has its perks, but when someone you love leaves you for someone else without a proper explanation, it bites!

Anyway, personal opnions ppl, and any personal expierences

All I can say is that you are not alone in your experience, and though it doth suck muchly right now, you WILL love again if you so choose.

I'm assuming you are fairly young (16-22)...if I'm wrong, correct me. You will heal, you will love again, and your ex will become nothing but a faded memory as time passes.

Love comes to those who want it, and give it freely.

Or "fortunately".
Were you to do something that assinine, "Getting with" someone for no reason other than to "get even", you'll soon be faced again with either DUMPING the girl you just got with (which is exactly what you got upset about for in the first place), or having her leave you for someone who really loves HER, and not just the idea of revenge.

You've done the intelligent thing in not choosing THAT way. (revenge via best friend)

Twisted logic. I like it, but I don't like any of her friends. I know who I do like, and she's with another of my friends. I'm not going to do that to sumone

To be quite honest, it's best if you stop wasting precious time and mental energy on someone who's as low as it would seem your ex (and her best-friend for that matter) is.

Focus on being yourself (which I'm pretty sure doesn't involve too much getting-even), and when the right person comes along, give it another shot.

That's not stuff you want to hear at a time like this, but I think it's relevant nonetheless.

A little bit of comedy should heal you too. Hmmm. I wish somewhere along someone made a comedy pill or.. uh, comedy medicine. It would be called:

'Comecine'

Its side effects are hysteria and possible anal leakage.

Do not worry. After you experience hysteria, a sense of euphoria will replace it. By then you will be asleep.
Oh, uh, I may recommend putting on diapers before doing so.

Generally speaking, it does suck to get dumped - although I must say that my own experience in the relationship arena varies. I almost always found it difficult to dump someone else and preferred that they did the dumping first - that is, once it became obvious someone had to do it. In those cases, getting dumped was the best thing that could have happened under the circumstances. The only time I ever found it relatively easy to do the dumping myself was when neither of us really had anything invested in the relationship, and it was clear that the relationship was over and the other person wasn't going to take the lead in that - no matter how much I tried to bring things to a head.

But now that I've been in a solid marriage for over 20 years, looking back on it I'd say that dating in general really sucked and I'd never want to have to go back to that agony again. If anything ever happened to my husband or to our marriage, I think that would pretty much be the end of it for me (as far as romance and dating and all that sort of nonsense is concerned, I mean). I wouldn't want to even consider such a prospect at this stage of my life, especially since all the rules have changed so dramatically since I was young. But maybe that's just me...

I've only been dumped once...and I got dumped in the worst way-- IN BED, after a night of dinner, movies and video games. I was clueless. We were together for 6 months and it was, as far as I was concerned, the best relationship I ever had. The ***hole says, "This is something I have to do for myself. Don't be surprised if in 6 months you have a crying puppy at your door, begging you to take him back."

It took me a year to get over that. He never told me why he was breaking up with me...I moved back to my home province a few weeks later, and I get an email from him "Miss you. Wish you were here." Yeah. I sent him an email that didn't even come close to expressing how upset I was, and I haven't spoken to him again.

That was 4 years ago. Just over a year after we broke up, I met the most amazing person. He and I have been together ever since. And, although I spent the first 6 months paranoid that we would break up, I also insisted on extreme open/honest communication. It's paid off-- I have a partner who treats me like gold and we aren't afraid to tell each other anything. :)

I've heard through the grapevine about my ex that shortly after we broke up he got a woman pregnant. He and the woman hate each other now, and he ended up having to sell his precious sports car in order to pay child support. The moral of the story: Karma karma karma.
