so when does the debate start?

i'm looking forward to some organised debating in here.

it's all too often that one side of the issue gets carpet bombed simply because there are more people on the other side to do more research and feild more ideas, regardless of which side had the stronger arguments

i've had the good fortune to be on both sides of that one. ;)

Deleuze said he would post his opening arguments tomorrow, Super-Power shouldn't be far behind that.

After regulation debate has finished its course, the thread will be opened to anyone wanting to throw their two cents in.

Me and Euroslavia decided we were tired of random spam/debate/flame threads so we organized a team to try and hold actual modeled debates. In the hope (vain most likely) that NS will become a better place for it.

Deleuze is going to present his opening post today as well, after that is when the actual debate starts.

A constructed debate, holy be-jesus, thats a freak-in, fan-tastic idea.

Would I know Deleuze as someone else or does he seriously only have 65 post?

Another question, do either of these guys have any schooling or experience in economics?

he might only have 65, but it really doesn't matter. Post count does not really equate to intelligence.

As for information, they have basic resources provided for either side by me as well as whatever else they can dig up on the internet.

I know that, but I would imagine that a more established poster would be more reliable and more likely to follow the civil discourse.

I'm not saying that I could provide it, but I would like to see some actual insight and understanding of the subject rather than rehashed ideas off of the internet.

But oh well, Superpower seems to be a good poster with some smarts and ideas, so this shouldn't be too bad at all.

You guys should get Dogburg for another debate involving capitalism - he's genius in his posts, very well thought out and constructive.

Deleuze, I believe you missed the most important aspect of the graduated tax system.

Check this site and pay close attention to the part about the marginal utility of a dollar.

I'm not supposed to comment here, but you did address this to me. I addressed this (albeit in a roundabout manner) in my discussion of Bill Gates and welfare.

I just think that SP will rebut your point about wealth distribution with a property rights argument, and you should point out that the progressive tax taxes the dollars differently and the people the same.

well, the debate is moving slowly so far, but, I think we can all deal with it.

Does anyone have comments on the structure/nature of the debate? Please, feel free to make suggestions as to how to make this better.
