Here in the western US there is tons of Hype about the great food of In'N'Out. I don't get it. I ate there, and it was, at best, average. Did I just get hosed with a bad meal? Is it really that good? Or is it just another Fad Food?

P.S. I guess I really did have a thread for tonight....

Being from the really east coast, I feel left out by the In 'N' Out Burger craze. All we have up here are McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's.

Up in Canada the ever-present Harvey's restaurants have finally stopped selling those godawful crispy fries, the ones that soak up like four times as much oil as the old straightcut potatoes they used to use. Bastids.

If you take the sticker and rub off the "B" & the final "R" in burger, you get the In'N'Out urge. Thanks to my friends in California, it adorns the rear window of my car here in Aus.

What the heck is an In and Out burger? I'm moving to the west in 3 months so I'd better brush up on my burger trivia.

I prefered Fatburger when I was out in Vegas.

In & Out is basically what McDonalds was before they went heavy into franchising.

It's better in some ways than Wendy's, McDonald's and Burger King because it tastes generally unlike all those. However, there's a time and place for everything, and different isn't always better - sometimes I WANT shitty burgers, that's when I go to McDonald's. Sometimes I want decent ones so I'd consider In n Out. Sometimes I'd want gourmet style burgers.... well, no, actually. I wouldn't.

What, you mean you've never ground up filet mignon and made a cheeseburger out of it? :D Tastes good.

In n out is the only fast food resturant I'll eat at because their food is made there and fit for human consmption.

Which said I only eat there rarely.

No hydrogenated oils is the key I think.

Plus i would wager their food isnt so engineered (i dont mean genetically) as I know it is at other places.

You can say what you like about my nonexistent god and my crummy country, but how dare you talk trash about In-n-Out? They hand-cut their fries, for christsake!
