In case you didn't know. There was an earthquake in Sumatra (Indonesia) [And northern Sumatra is Bandar Acheh] yesterday 8.7 on the richter scale.

I don't know the full extent of the damage as of yet, except it gave me a bump on the head by my falling water bottle. Malaysia is 100% ok. I'm finding out the news for any extensive damage.

CNN reports Sumatra getting hit bad again. Estimates some 2000 killed.

There was a short-lived thread on this when it happened this morning, but I'm not sure where it went. In any case, it really is hell over there. Let's hope they get a break.

No Tsunami.. Scientist are baffled though. It seems only a small island have been hit in Sumatra.. Nias island or something like that.

It would take a while before we'll know the results. As alot of Sumatra are still very backwards. Don't know how long before we get news from isolated fishing villages.

EDIT:

You will probably be living in the mountains within the year, the water cant get to you there. The loss of life is regrettable.

This may seem very silly, but this quake happened on the second day of Easter while the first one was the on the second day of Christmas. Coincidence? I think not! Somebody or something is screwing with the planet :p
