I Love Gay People.

Someone has a signature which makes me looks homophobic and I'd just like to say: I love gay people.

Because of you, my clothes look nice. My cologne smells great. And you give my mother something to watch on TV. It's also entertaining to watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, or even better, Comedy Central's "Straight Plan For the Gay Man." Sometimes, I even watch Christopher Lowell for the hilarious things he says, mannerisms, and homosexuality that's so feminine, he makes Bambi look like Godzilla.

But no, I'm kidding. Generalizations aside, I think homosexuals are leading the new civil rights movement and being largely ignored by Conservatives-a mistake they shouldn't make, because look at how damaging it's been with blacks. (I mean, geez. Look at the NAACP.)

So, yes. I'm totally straight, but I love gay people. Especially lesbians (other than Ellen or Rosie O'Donnel. *vomit*)

Yeah. Anyone who says, "Why do gays want special rights?", should ask, "Why do women not want to recieve 75 cents to every man's dollar?"

Why do female Wal-Mart employees not want to be discriminated against? (http://www.alternet.org/rights/19901/)

Think about it. Even Conservatives should agree:You should be judged based on how hard you work, not your gender, race, religion, or sexual preference.

I, like you, love gay men for their fashion sense, but I appreciate it for a different reason.

You're like Lunatic Goofballs (praise be to our mighty lord), except for political. In case you were wondering that was a compliment.

I see what your trying to do, and that is set the record straight about something people really don't care about mainly because people in the heat of the moment have used "gay" as a derrogotory (sp?) remark. homophobia is gay and thats all i have to say :D :D :D
Just saying that this thread could turn sour

I too love the homosexual community. I learned how to treat women largely from gay men.

I'm bored so I'm going to be nit-picky.

Well, ah, my stats prof showed us exactly why a woman receives 75 cents for every mans dollar. The reason is amusing.

You see, one would think that the number would be tabulated on a per-hour basis. That would make sense, wouldn't it? But it isn't. It's tabulated on a per week basis.

What's the problem with that you say? I'll tell you, employed women work 76% of the time that men do in a week. They're being paid the same hourly wage as men (almost, it's a cent off, which I doubt is statistically signifigant.) Now why this is, I don't totally know.

And just to show that the prof didn't pull this out of his ass or use a propaganda source, he used the actual studies that show this, and those studies actually state this in their statistical data, but the presentation of this data to the public never includes this fact.

How witty.
What do you expect with no sleep?

Besides, I'm only half-British. With the other half being American, you can't expect me to have a wit sharper than a butterknife.

Yeah, I've seen the exact same studies. A lot of it has to do with not only over time situations, but many woman also take time off on a weekly basis that men do not (for instance, I work in a law firm and certain female workers take off certain days, or half-days to either deal with their kids, or other issues).

Basically that .75 to a dollar argument has been laughed off the streets by any credible study, and the only ones that show otherwise are, as you pointed out, those that only show a weekly, or in some cases, monthly wage differential. The fact of the matter is the average woman doesn't work as many hours as the average man, and from my experience in work this is easily seen.

Getting back to the main point of the post however, I really don't think any group should have any special rights. In this regard I'm more pro-equality than even the most militant feminazis. I don't believe that woman should get maternity when their husbands don't (both have their sleep cycles messed up, and thats been the main argument for years by the feminists whom don't want to argue that woman should be in the home with a young child versus a man). I don't believe minorities should be awarded any special weight to their college/work applications solely due to their race. I don't believe homosexuals deserve any special rights like those above either. They just shouldn't have them. If everyone is judged without their conditions, you have a much more equal society.

I love dykes as well. Very much, without sex even involved.

In other words: I loive lesbians.

Not sure where you twisted there, but I'm for everything up to this point.
I also like the freedom that all those questions about sex... when it comes to people like me...

They seem like bullshit. Whatever adults want to do with "their stuff", they do it.

Did I mention I'm drunk, high and very happy having sold a partership in my design biz?
Homophobes, eat this: Chances are, I have more money than your Republican peers. :p
