What are your feelings on the past election and how regular people are reacting based on their feelings. Has the left sided voters taken it too far? Should they just get over it?

I was very upset that the Bloc Quebecois did so well.

The 2004 elections were generally not good. Sinn Fein dramatically increased their share of local seats and won a European Parliament seat. My own favourite party, the Greens, made no progress in the local councils and lost both its MEP seats. The incompetent, archaic conservatives Fine Gael made a lot of progress in the midwest of Ireland, unfortunately.
However, the crooked parties in government, Fianna Fail and the Progressive Democrats lost seats in the local elections and the MEP elections. Labour (moderate democratic socialist party) made signifcant gains in Dublin.

That's probably because the other party reps did a pour job selling their platform, or came off looking just ridiculous. Not all Quebecers who vote for the Bloc are separatist. They just want a voice in Parliament that makes more sense to them. And then, when a referendum comes along, they just vote no.

Oh, I realize that, I just don't like it that the loudest voice coming out of Quebec is seperatist. From Romeo Dallaire to Martin Brodeur, Quebec is an essential part of Canada

I am getting sick of all the liberals whining. I have heard so much whining, that my right-wing politics became even more extreme. I wrote an article in my school paper telling the liberals of my school to just shut up already. I am so sick of hearing about the election, that the next person who calls me a fascist or a nazi for liking Bush, they are getting a broken nose.

left wing - right wing - lets not think about politics... just 2 broad ideologies - and call people names over them - and blindly agree with whatever our parties leader does - regarless if its in the best interest of democracy or the people of the country - not thinking is just easier - 2004 was a bad year for politics
