Meet the Communist overlord of the shop!

For decades, Bagpuss has kept the Orchestra mice in collective slavery, forcing them to play tunes on their instruments for his own selfish enjoyment!

Here are the poor, poor mice wearing their tattered rags, defunct from years of communist slavery and oppression!

But this supreme act of cruelty required a devious and obnoxious side kick in the form of the dreaded secret policeman, Professor Yaffle

First to die was the old aristocrat, Madeline Duchess of the Till. She was put up against a wall and shot for being one of the many 'bourgeise oppressors' whom Fuhrer Bagpuss hated and despised. Here's an image of her in her old society days.

The stage was set for revolution! The mice were angry after their beloved comrades were dragged off to the distant gulag that is the shop display cabinet and brutally executed by Fuhrer Bagpuss for being 'enemies of the shhop'. They wanted slavery and oppression no more. All they needed was a leader, a leader who was, as it happened, a singing toad:

And so the mice set off with their fearless leader and confronted the evil Bagpuss and his lackey, Professor Yaffle. In a harsh and gruelling battle, the mice just gained victory over their communist overlord and they actually captured him. He was later executed in a bloody coup at his former Winter Palace. And so the Mice claimed their former instrument of oppression, the musical organ, and joy reigned throughout the shop
