Hello folks,

Though I am now actively avoiding "General" to avoid ever being deleted again, I would like to make a request to anyone with similar interests as me.

At this time, I am making a screensaver of world war II photographs, it does not matter what format (.gif, .jpg etc.), or whether they are black and white, or color, or what side.

At this time, I have a total of 2,055 pictures, for a total size of 366 megabytes.

If you know of any good places to get WWII pictures, please, TELL ME! I have done various searches on google, and that got me with those, but I'm looking for more websites that perhaps might not be high up on google's list.

Yeah but that is MASSIVE for a distributed screen saver!
The reason they keep them so small is primarily because it is something you leave on when you are not paying attention to the computer. something so massive for something that people will probably only look at 10 -20 of them (mostly by accident glancing at the screen)

I like to read about World War II while sitting in front of my computer, and from time to time, look up and see the photos.

Are you going to have them coming up randomly (as in, a different picture each time)? That would be pretty cool, actually.

Very cool, how do you do that? In Photoshop? I really want to know.
Try History Channel (http://www.historychannel.com/) or other thing like that, Discovery Channel etc.

I go to the website, and open all the pictures a want in a tab (I use firefox, this helps greatly), then, I right click, and select "Save Picture As..." and I save it to my screen saver folder. I keep the resolution at the orginal size, so the quality isn't degrarded.

Okay, you must put it all in one big frame right, kind of like sticking many pictures on one sheet of paper, do you understand?
How do you do that, put all the pictures together and turn it into a screensaver? I use Mozilla (Firefox).

Nope, I leave them seperate. Otherwise, it'd take too much time.
