Actually, I believe you are wrong. I remember this conversation a long time ago and his was the second nation to be created.

Last Hope is the oldest nation still in existance, but I don't think it was the first created.

Yeah... I remember this from nuts long ago... I don't remember it being Testlandia, though... something else. Oh well. My memory is apparently not so good.

As far as NS goes, I'm one of the oldest, but certainly not the oldest by a long shot.

As far as the real world goes, from what I understand Denmark was the oldest, and France the second.

5 or 6 people have told me Maxtopia is the oldest, but I really wouldn't know; I've only been around since Spring 2004 (and in the incarnation of Czardas since February 2005). Going by population, according to the NS census, Praetor has the largest population (5.733 billion), but that doesn't mean it's the oldest. The population fluctuations and bugs probably contributed to that. However (due to their presence in issues composed by Max Barry and others) nations such as Bigtopia, Lilliputia, and Tasmania (if they even exist any longer) have been around for a while, too.

Population's a hopeless thing to go by for accurately determining nation age; between population bugs, and some issues affecting it too, not to mention if you're very idle and rarely log in ...

For what it's worth, though, Britannia dates to the 27th of November, 2002.

Issues don't affect it. The pop bug does. So, if you could just work out who had the pop bug...

and you have to work out when it increases by 2,000,000 people or 5,000,000, its not a very good idea of age

Ah-ha. Thanks. That makes much more sense. And yes, I agree with you, it's only good at giving rough ages. Within half a dozen months or so.

I understood Maxtopia to be first, then Testlandia. This was discussed in an earlier thread.

By the way, how many of you are participating in the Global Treasure Hunt? Check the region of Treasure Island for details.

I've only heard of testlandia being first, but the others are a toss up as to order in my head right now.
