Has Clint Eastwood Ever Died In A Movie?

My friend and I, crazy film students that we are, came up with something interesting, Clint Eastwood stands as the only mainstream action hero we can think of who, to our knowledge, hasn't died in a single film. Now, I could be wrong. He may have died in something, but I've yet to come across anything.

Perhaps he was killed in "Tarantula" or "Revenge of the Creature", does anybody know?

Neither does Will Smith.

Anyway, in an episode of Maverick, specifically Duel At Sundown, Clint was shot to death by James Garner and I'm pretty sure he dies of TB in Honkytonk Man. Also, in Escape from Alcatraz, he dies by implied drowning since the real Frank Morris' body was never found - although this also implies that he may have escaped.

However, without a doubt, he dies in The Beguiled. Either by mushroom poisoning or from a heart attack out of the fear that he was poisoned. It is up to the viewer to interpret, but he definately dies.

Many action figures don't die.

Neither does Will Smith. It's implied that he commits suicide in Six Degrees of Seperation.

or Harrison Ford

In Bladerunner he's a replicant with an incept date and a built in life-span, so we know he's going to die soon. :)

What about Jean-Claude Vandamme?

Dunno about No Retreat, No Surrender but he's never died in any other movie he's been in.

Still, didn't keep his film career from dying.

Well, you could argue that Clint 'dies' in "Every which way but loose", and then again in "Every which way you can".

What about Jean-Claude Vandamme? He died in Black Eagle, amongst others.

What about Arnold Schwarzenegger?
and then there's Chuck Norris, though he kinda dies in every movie he's ever been in.

Nope, he didn't die in that. At the end it says he went back to texas or somewhere and married.

I knew there was one, though you could argue that it was Satan, not Arnold that died.

I knew there was one, though you could argue that it was Satan, not Arnold that died. No, you really couldn't. Arnie threw himself onto the sword and terminated his life, Satan was just prevented from existing in this plane of existence for the next thousand-odd years.

And Chuck Norris dies in Double Dragon, against Bruce Lee.

Ironically, I think Bruce Lee may be one of the only action movie stars who hasn't died.

But he was possessed by Satan at that particular instance, so in effect he was just killing the vessel Satan was inhabiting.

so in effect he was just killing the vessel Yes, that's right. He was killing the vessel. And what was that vessel? Himself.

ergo, Arnie killed himself whilst ridding the world of the physical manifestation of Satan. It was for a noble cause (can't get much more noble than defeating the Prince of Darkness), but ultimately, it was also an act of suicide.

Besides, Arnie has died in all three of the Terminator films. (Though I don't know if death applies to you if you're a Cybernetic Organism.)

I was going to say Jet Li, but I remembered Lethal Weapon 4.

How about Jackie Chan?

How about Jackie Chan? He's starred in over 90 films. It stands to reason that he must have died in at least one of them.

well, depending on your point of view, high plains drifter. clint plays the reincarnation of the sheriff who was brutally killed in front of the apathetic town. he comes back and teaches the town a lesson and then disappears again. cutting hairs yes, but as an avid clint fan, i don't think there is a movie in which he dies an on-screen death....
