Absolutely brilliant - Kubrick is a magnificent director, the movie totally blew me away and gave me a good few laughs.

So anybody else here now worried the Russians are sabotaging our precious bodily fluids with floridation?

No, I'm more worried about the fate of Colonel Bat Guano!

As long as the commies don't see the big board, I'm happy.

(Oh, and as long as no-one oversteps the bounds of their authority.)

A few good laughs? That was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

Gotta love that final line. Also gotta love the expression the Russian spy gave when Dr. Strangelove's mechanical arm was acting up. He had a difficult time holding a laugh in!

All through the movie it looked like Dr. Strangelove was trying to stick his arm out and yell "Sieg Heil!"

Gen. Jack Ripper, "Have you every been tortured Mandrake?"

Group Captain Mandrake, "Well, yes Jack, actually I have."

JR, "Did you talk?"

M, "Well, they never really asked me questions, I think it was just their way of having a bit of fun, the swine. Funny thing is they make such bloody good cameras now."

"We cannot allow a MINESHAFT GAP!" General Turgidson...

such a great movie... in the bad old days of the Cold War it wasn't that implausible either. It scared the shit out of me when I was a kid in the 1960s. But I was too young to get the jokes at the time. I have seen the movie dozens of times since.

Its definitely a classic.

I'm partial to the intentionally-crappy special effects, especially the B-29's.

Mechanical arm? I had always thought he suffered from alien hand syndrome.

Is this said somewhere?

Seriously. I would love to hear what the official story is supposed to be.
