Well a couple of the above. But I noticed some upcoming stars in the entertainment thread division. Such as Tinfoilhat. Seemed to recently get out of a institution.

I almost said Comic, but I have to go with Random.

I personally like serious debates best. Though I am partial to random and funny threads too!

There are two distinct types of serious threads. Those that deal with the polemic issues of the day, the flavours of the month etc. Three of the examples you gave, Guns Gays and Bush, are of this nature. Then there are the eternal debates; God, Morals, freedom vs security, etc. I much prefer the eternal ones as they tend to be better thought out and less flamey.

3. Personal "getting 2 no u" threads

I think a mixture of random and non-serious threads are the best. I.E. Torching Witches' infamous Pink Waffers Thread.

My favourite threads are black/Refused Party Program.

News threads are interesting always... I like a good depate also!

I like various kinds. Informational (news), serious debate, but also getting to know one another/just having fun.

Too bad its not multiple choice. I picked the getting-to know-you threads, but I like serious debate just about as well. I like to argue as well as I like to gossip. :D

I always like a good mix, so I checked "Random". For some reason though, I like threads that have a poll more.

I like the non-serious ones... the serious ones tend (not always tho) to devolve into flame wars... and the informative ones tend to turn into debates, then into flamewars.

I wanna see some word games and such tho.

On phpBB we used to have those. Now for some reason the mods won't allow them. My word association game got moved to the spam forum.

I like the "serious" debates because of the sheer joy of picking apart other's ideas. There was a thread awhile back in which someone didn't believe in evolution, and that one was probably my favorite.

Also, I like the serious threads that get hijacked and turned into something less serious.
