Nintendo DS? Or Sony PSP?

There were probably some posts about this when they first were coming out, but what would you rather buy? The Nintendo DS, or the Sony PSP?

I bought the Nintendo DS the first day it came out, but I'm thinking of also buying a PSP (yes, I'm that mad of a gamer). I really want to know if it's worth it though. $250 is a hell of a lot of money for a handheld. To me the PSP looked all flashy, and had flashy but dull and bad games. But on the contrary, the DS is $100 cheaper than the PSP, and has much better games. The DS will also have online capability in a lot of it's up coming games (example: Animal Crossing). I know the PSP can connect and play multiplayer wirelessly, but I'm not sure if it's going to have internet connecting capabilities. Plus, not too many of Sony's games are multiplayer, and if they are; they're usually only two people.

I think you're paying for the looks and extra media features (mp3, movie, etc.) with the PSP. Plus, the PSP has better graphics, and that will probably mean better quality of movies compared to the DS's movies that will be coming out.

What do you guys think?

Definitely PSP. However, the PSP can't play any old PS or PS2 programs, and has a somewhat short battery life. The DS can play GB and GBA games, but can't match the PSP in graphics or screen size. So, I'd have to go with the PSP.

It really depends on what games you like, so I can't recommend either.

DS.

But probably neither. Spending £150 on a handheld can piss right off.

I hear PSP can play music and everything, which sounds nice, but seems unnecessary, after all you probably have a portable CD player anyway. I've read a lot more about DS, because I'm an NP subsrciper[EDIT: Wow, it should say "subscriber." I really butchered that], and it seems a lot like a really cheap computer, with the stuff you find under "accessories" already built in, which seems cool to me. Animal Crossing is a cool game. It's pretty girly, but it's fun, I just stopped playing it 'cause I ran out of time, and had to satisfy my Halo addiction. But it would be crazy to play online. Wow, I don't have a DS, and I'm thinking that would be crazy. But don't take my word for any of that, I'm not expert and I don't want to mislead you.

Well, it depends on what you like. The DS has all of the Nintendo first-party titles and other innovative-type games. The PSP has the sort of titles that you would find on the PS2, plus UMD movies and other extra stuff.

Wait a few months for a price drop, though, because as of right now, there aren't really many good games.

I bought a DS the first day it came out. I might buy a PSP, but not for a couple years. I have no intention of dropping that kinda money on something like that. Also, get a warranty if you get a PSP. If my past experience with Sony products is any indication, PSP will break easily.

It's called taking care of it. My TV, Stereo, surround sound system, and favorite gaming consol still work perfectly after all the various years I've had them. (Just got the TV, surround sound two years ago, PS2 shortly after its launch, and the stereo YEARS ago)

Hell, my original PlayStation still works fine. Stop blaming the producer because you don't treat your electronics right.
