The major Arab news network, Al-Jazeera, is probably going to go public soon. Currently, it's government-owned, but they're making plans to get on the stockmarket. If that happens, it's likely that a lot of politicians you wouldn't expect (can you say GOP?) are going to invest in it, in order to stop Al-Jazeera's anti-American bias and Al-Qaeda propaganda, and replace it with a pro-American bias and American propaganda.

I'm sorry, I just had to laugh about this...

The possibility that this may happen and that the Network would be changing to one that promotes Capitalistic and Democratic Morals is just a bit funny to me...

I am not saying that it wouldn't happen, just that it would be rather ironic if such a thing would happen...

Maybe that's the best way to get the World to like us... Just "buy them all out" by letting all their Companies become "Americanized" Capitalistically but let them retain their "Local Identities"... :D

Then maybe other Countries might like to Invest a small portion of their "retirement money" into the Stock Market... Wouldn't it be nice if American Citizens were allowed to do that? :p

Atually I have seen a slight shift in AlJazeera as of late. They are definately anti-American. But they have been increasing in there editorials against some of the Arab regimes. But goes to show capitalism does work in alot of ways. Funny that they embrace something like going public and freedom of speech then during the course of there news they do the opposite. Odd paradox there.

Al jazeera is just a bit biased, but they are somewhat independent.. they generally give a very Arab perspective, focusing on Arab problems, but they have no qualms in going against either Tyrannical Arab regimes, or the US.

The recent years have been great for Al-Jazeera. A few years ago, your average punter in the west would have never heard of them.
