Road Trip!

Me and my friends are 3/4ths through our sophmore year of highschool. We are already starting to plan our roadtrip(s?) for our senior year. We had two things in mind, either going on one short spring break road trip and one medium summer one, or if we should just take a long summer one. We were thinking if we go for spring break, we would drive to colorado to ski, and then go to vegas over the summer, and maybe a few other places. The other idea was go on a long one in the summer, 3+ weeks, and drive more cross country but still stay near vegas some of the time.
Is there somewhere better to go? We wil be starting the journey in Wisconsin.
Other recomendations?
Any of your own memories of roadtrips?
Disclaimer: I may sound like a stupid kid with too big of plans for the future that aren't going to happen. Even if I am ( :) ) , theres no reason to kill the topic.

Swing by the Grand Canyon and some of the other natural areas in that part of the Country. You'll be glad you did. :)

I'm a senior and we're planning a west coast road trip.
Well, not really planning, just betting we'll get three cars, load up with cigs, alcohol (no one heard that), food, and camping equipment as well as about 300 USD each and have fun for two weeks.

I'd highly remomend Zion National Park, and a little mountain in Utah called Mt. Delano(<-I love that place)

Sounds fun... Can I come along? Of course, I'll be willing to ride in the trunk.

Drive the Pacific Coast highway south. Was so gorgeous I nearly did not come back. :)

That, and 18 is the legal drinking age in Alberta, so there's a good chance that you'll be able to buy it legally :D

I'm planning to drive from phoenix through san francisco and monteray all the way to vancouver this june.
Why are you starting in Wisconsin? Do you live there? If you don't, I don't suggest you go there. There really isn't a lot to do here. Unless, you're going to the Dells. It's your spring break though, I would love to go toFlorida or Mexico. That would take a lot of money and planning during spring break.

The South is the best place! Start in the Carolinas down to Florida and then to Louisiana(?), Alabama, St. Louie etc. Great trip.

Yup!
If you do, make sure not to miss 17 mile drive (around the Monterey Peninsula). Simply gorgeous.

Now just imagine, I live in Oregon.
Anyway, I suggest hitting the Oregon coast. It's one of the prettiest places I've been to, and I've been pretty much all around the country, and especially hit Eugene and Ashland, the two biggest hippie towns in the country. They still have festivals based around the stuff.

I'm liking your idea the most out of them so far. Not much can beat a hippie town.

Eugene might be a bit better cause it's a college town. The festivals are in Ashland, but I don't know when they are
