Damn you, you beat me to posting about this. Anyway this is a massive find. I am excited to see what kind of information is going to come of this. The information so far collected is proving that Avians are decendants of dinosaurs. Which is a cool thing in itself. Realizing this means that they didn't die off. They just adapted.

How is this even possible?

The blood looks so fresh... are they sure it's not a fake?!

If so... ummm let's clone it. I wanna see what a T-Rex looks like.

Was it really Green and dumb? Or a Smart Polka Dot covered dinosaur? :p

I have a great idea. Let's clone the T-rex and use it as our next weapons system. Can you imagine letting a couple hundred of these loose on a enemy position! Pure carnage I could imagine.

Not to mention the possibility of putting the whole warm/cold blooded debate to rest.

Also, Jurassic Park.

Basically, it was completely surrouned by fossil, which was air-tight. The bacteria that break down the flesh tissue requires oxygen, so that didn't happen.

It's not actually fresh...Think more like the tissue you'd find on a mummy - But it's still unbelievable.

Amazing. Truly.

Will they now clone a T. Rex and have an ostrich lay the first dinosaur egg since the Jurrasic? If so, will the ostrich hatch the egg and become her hatchling's first meal? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

Perhaps, but cleaning up afterward would be a bitch! ;)

Have they confirmed it yet?

When i hear the news, breaking discovery all over the news that it is indeed real and fleshy and such...then maybe.

Right now i think it's a good hoax.

Yeah, for the Dinos. But we'd get to figure out what charred Dinosaur tastes like.

The finding certainly shows fossilization does not proceed as science had assumed, Schweitzer said. Since the discovery, she has found similar samples of soft tissue in two other Tyrannosaur fossils and a hadrosaur.

The fossil was dug up out of Montana's Hell Creek Formation, a rich source of fossils.

Paleontologist Jack Horner said it was encased in 1,000 cubic yards (metres) of sandstone. "It's a fantastic specimen," he told the briefing.

Which means that there are now multiple tissue samples. Also, burying a 70,000 old bone in the badlands of Montana, I imagine, is no easy task.

jack horner is one of the people in on the discovery, and he's like the guy in paleontology in the u.s.

plus its gonna be in march 25th issue of "science".

You know, I've always wondered why everyone keeps going back to Jurassic park. Shouldn't they have learned from the first movie?

WATCH OUT FOR THAT DINOSAU-AUHHHHHHHH!

Add a few more zero's to the end of that.

Add one more thing to the list of things we never thought were possible.

As great as this is, I can't help but wonder how many over-zealous scientists are going to be bashing other fossils in hopes of finding unfossilized bone marrow.

One step closer to the dream of the ultimate close-combat killing machine (velociraptor with shot-gun monkey on its back) being realized.
Now we just need a raptor soft-tissue sample, and then we can start training the monkeys.
