Chow Chow

Has a reputation for ferocity but although a formidable opponent, it is unlikely to attack unless provoked. It is faithful, odour free and makes a good pet, although it prefers to be under one master. Needs a firm hand and a good daily walk. Some people eat it as well. "Chow" is a Chinese slang for "edible" while "kow" is Chinese for "dog", so this animal could also be known as a Chow Kow.

The first part is good but the last part is kind of disturbing.

I'm a Bichon Frise.

Origins: Canary Islands. The exact origins of this dog are unclear. It is said that Spanish sailors introduced the dog to Tenerife in the 14th century. Italian soldiers then rediscovered it and brought it back to Europe. Like the Poodle, it is thought to be a descendent of the French water dog, the Barbet.

Personality: Happy, friendly, and lively, this breed has long made an attractive and cuddly small pet. However, its long curly coat resembling a powder puff makes for difficult grooming. It thrives on human companionship.

I'm a standard poodle!

The Standard Poodle is an elegant, medium to large-sized dog, with a profuse, but well groomed and clipped, wiry curly coat. The head and muzzle are long. The skull is a bit rounded, with a slight stop. The teeth should form a scissors bite. The ears are wide and hanging close to the head. The eyes are oval and generally very dark. Brown and cafe-au-lait colored Poodles have dark amber eyes, while apricot dogs may have amber eyes, but dark eyes are considered better. The Poodles length from breastbone to rump is approximately the same as the height at the withers. The topline is level except for a slight depression behind the withers. The croup is rounded and the feet are compact, small, and oval. The tail is docked to half the original length. All solid colors are allowed. The coat may be groomed into three basic styles: the "pet clip" (or puppy clip), with relatively short hair all over the entire body, the "English saddle clip," and the "Continental clip," with the rear half of the body shaved, bracelets left around the ankles, and pom-poms left on the tail and hips. The Standard Poodle has a delightful springy gait. For thenextclue go to blogger - (this one's hard)

I was so jazzed about the test, I took it twice more:

2nd attempt: Collie
3rd attempt: English Foxhound (again!)

and you know what they say, third times a charm!!

So, the English Foxhound it is!!

Origins:
UK. In the 13th century the slower trailing hounds were bred to faster lighter hounds (and maybe to greyhounds) to increase speed. The Foxhound's prime function is to hunt foxes alongside huntsmen.

Personality:
In Britain, the strong, lively and noisy English Foxhounds are never kept as pets but are the property of individual hunting packs. They cannot be bought in Britain by individuals. Central motif of the hunting crowd.

Another online description:
The English Foxhound is a very active, bold and passionate hunter. Responsive and obedient to his master... but training takes patience. They are quite friendly with people, and excellent with children, but prefer to be in the company of other dogs and does quite well with other animals. The English Foxhound likes to bay. They are untiring, able to run for hours at a consistent speed, trotting along through brambles, marshes, and sunny countryside for five or six hours without stopping. Since the foxhound uses up a great deal of energy in its youth, covering thousands of miles without respite, it is ready to be retired at the age of about seven or eight. The English Foxhound is a bit stockier and slower than the American Foxhound, but has a very similar personality. This breed is still primarily a pack-hunting dog, though show lines can make good companions if given sufficient exercise. It is recommended that if you are looking to own an English Foxhound solely as a pet, that you choose show lines, as field types are extremely active.

Origins:

Personality:

It's too bad the dog passed that way, thats a shame. Unfortunately such is the case all too often, animal mistreatment leads not only to the wanton death of many dogs as you've illustrated - it also leads to many 'bad dogs' distemperments. You should try and forgive your relatives though, I'm sure if they didn't know what they were doing if that was the outcome - and it's likely they feel bad enough about it already.

I'm glad that you like the Segugio though, it's truly a wonderful dog. :)

Havanese Silk Dog
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images7/HavaneseLittle_Misty_3_months.jpg

Origins ~ Cuba. Known as the Havanese Silk Dog because of its long, flowing coat, which gives it a somewhat mystical look. Traditionally given as gifts to wealthy friends and often seen in circuses.

Personality ~ Havanese are natural companion dogs, gentle and responsive, they become very attached to their families and are excellent with children. Very affectionate and playful with a high degree of intelligence. This curious dog loves to sit up high on a chair to observe what is going on. Cheerful and sociable, they get along with everyone including people, dogs, cats, and other pets. It is very sensitive and harsh words will only upset the animal.

French Bulldog

Size Small
Average Min. Height 10 inches
Average Max. Height 12 inches
Average Min. Weight 22 pounds
Average Max. Weight 28 pounds

Description
Friendly and affectionate with families, this dog typically needs to establish dominance before feeling comfortable and competes with children and other animals for attention. Recognizable by its low, heavy set frame and bat-like ears. Best if fed in isolation, as it tends to become very mistrusting around food. Very sensitive to heat.

Back away from the kibble!

Well, this is an interesting game. I did it twice, only changing one option (the one that asks if you're an Indoors/Outdoors/ Adaptive person)

The first time, I answered "Adaptive"

DOG NAME:

Bouvier Des Flandres (Belgian Cattle Dog)

ORIGINS:

Belgium. Originated in the Flanders area between the River Lys valley and the coast. This shaggy dog looks the picture of ferocity
in its homeland where it was bred as a farm dog with a good all around ability as a hunter, herder, drover, protector and guard.

PERSONALITY:
This can be a rather fierce dog but beneath the seemingly agressive exterior is a calm, sensible, trustworthy, hardy and intelligent individual.

(the following is from this site:http://www.furrycritter.com/resources/dogs/Belgian_Cattle_Dog.htm)

This rustic, energetic, bold breed is dominant and bonds to only one person. He is calm, wise, and steady. He is alert, well behaved, and docile though can be a bit surly. This active dog has energy to spare. He must receive firm, consistent training. Strangers will find his forbidding countenance very dissuasive. This dog has always worked on the farm, guarding and herding the cattle, and as sled dog and even turning a wheel in the butter-churning process. His superb sense of smell makes him useful for police work.

Interesting...It fits me pretty well...

However, here's my second result. I chose Outdoor this time around...

DOG NAME:

Irish Setter (Big Red)

ORIGINS:

Ireland. Developed by crossing Irish Water Spaniels, Spanish Pointers, English and Gordon Setters. This resulted in a beautiful, exuberant,
pointer-like dog, which is notable for its classic pointing stance. Although it originated in Ireland, the breed came into its own in Victorian
England, where its speed and energy made it ideal as a gun dog in large open expanses of countryside.

PERSONALITY:
While undoubtedly having hunting ability, this breed is widely sought after as a family pet. It is good with children and other pets and has
a particular affinity with horses. Boundless energy and therefore needing plenty of exercise as well as regular grooming.

Now I like this one better...both cuz the dog is better looking in my opinion...and I'm partial toward Irish anything, as I am of Irish descent myself. :D
