A.) Making remarks like these never used to be flamebait beforehand.
B.) Bobby Fischer is extremely sadistic. When he competed against Boris Spatsky in Rekjyavik, he complained about everything from the lights, his water, the audience, even the marble the chessboard was made out of. He is a known Nazi sympathizer, and has behavior that can be described as antisocial.

This, however, had more to do with promoting post Cold War instability. If someone went to the USSR, that is fine by me. They, like Milosevic's Yugoslavia, were not a big enough threat to sanction them, or at least not after the resignation of Premier Malenkov.

#2: The U.S. invaded a souvern nation (Iraq), which lead to thousands upon thousands of people being killed. And the only reasoning behind it that would EVER stand up to a defence in court, is that the U.S. wanted to take the oil. Which was the properity of Iraq. Thus the U.S. government ordered THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of people killed, to take something that they didn't own. I'd call that murder. And don't try to tell me they didn't think it out. "USHIKU, Japan (Reuters) - Former world chess champion Bobby Fischer was released from detention in Japan on Thursday, witnesses said, allowing him to avoid deportation to the United States and head for Iceland, which has granted him citizenship.

It was the beginning of the end of an eight-month saga which began when Fischer, 62, was taken into custody in Japan last July for traveling on what U.S. officials said was an invalid passport.

He could face prison and fines in the United States, where he is wanted for violating sanctions against the former Yugoslavia by playing a chess match there in 1992.

Fischer sprang to fame when he won the world title in a classic Cold War encounter with Soviet champion Boris Spassky in Iceland in 1972.

The chess master used a series of legal moves to fight deportation to the United States, including seeking refugee status and renouncing his U.S. citizenship. Iceland granted him citizenship this week, clearing the way for him to leave for the tiny North Atlantic state where he is something of a hero."

Give me a break. Fischer is a nutjob, but he didn't hurt the American people by playing a chess match in Milosevic's Yugoslavia. How much money do you think Milosevic made off that tourney? You think it grabbed ratings and had thousands of crazed fans forking money over to see him play? Fischer simply decided he didn't need to abide by rules because he's better than the average guy, but that certainly doesn't make him a terrorist, or mean he "harmed the American people". Besides, everything he did to avoid extradition was perfectly legal, which is more than you can say for some American actions.
