Even if god does exist, do you really think he wants us to sit in church for 2 hours every sunday listening to boring stories, when we could be out working, helping people and so on?

I don't really think he cares what we do, so long as we don't break any of his "RULES."

Ah, the rules that have been corrupted and mixed to serve the governments of the world to control us.

Religion may well be true, but the original rules and truth have been masked by the evil leaders of society.

Also, what the heck is up with Platypuses? Why create such a mad creature? What kind of god would put such a terror on the world?

:eek: Oh dear... what a mad world.

It's sort of sad. Even to me, one of my grandmother's grandchildren who turned away from the Catholic church. It was a beautiful place and I have a lot of memories of it. What's even more sad is I don't know where the priest is going to worship now. He was a cool priest. He rode a motorcycle to the church. He had tattos and long hair. :(

When I saw this on the Nation Spotlight side bar for recent posts it said: Churches...are they real. Now there would be an interesting debate...

(Being an agnostic I shouldn't really say this but...)

If you assume those stories convey messages that could not also be passed in another, less timeconsuming way and/or that God is a terribly insecure being that needs an egoboost - yes ;)

All of what The Imperial Navy is saying may be true, but that doesn't demolish the need for churches. If there were no churches, people wouldn't hear the message of Christ half as often. There would be a lot more Jehova's Witness style stuff going on, something which I'm sure people would be a lot more annoyed about.

But yes, churches do need an overhaul in many respects. They have become attached to the world, when they shouldn't be. Gah, stupid politics!

What came out in the summary was:

One other theory is that when god created man in his image, he was truly horrified with the result... and came up with a new idea quickly. His image was cast into the waters. :D
