people have religion and science. some say they have purpose some dont, what do you think? with or without religion what do you think?

purpose is quite a strong word... I don't think we were "put here", so it would be hard for me to say that we were "put here for a reason", but my goal for life is to enjoy it as much as possible. This means something different to everybody... but I think it is the most concise way of explaining how one should live their life.

well i can tell u wat is not the purpose..... Its not getting up everyday at 7am to go to work to come back at 5pm to eat, pay bills, and go to sleep so u can do it all over the next day. watever the purpose is, it is not the way we are living life

Life purpose? Well, you got to sit down and ask yourself honestly what do you want to do. I don't believe there is a single purpose in life.

Why can't we ask ourself.. what are some things to do in life that define our existence? Or what is it you want to achieve.

1. Enjoy a good life
2. Have a good family
3. Help people from their misery :sniper:
4. Create a better world.

As we are simply creatures of a random natural process, there is no purpose to our existence except reproduction. A somewhat circular purpose. Which, of course, we can do or not as we please.

Yes, but it wouldn't really lead to the purpose of sex, which is reproduction and keeping the DNA going. You don't see dead women give birth very often. Nor do dead men usually stick around until the birth of their kid.

Life has no purpose other than to exist. It is merely a fact, wihout being intrinsically good or bad. It tries to conserve this by making more life.

Of course, having conciousness, we can define other goals.

I say the purpose is the one you make up for yourself...for example that john lennon lookalike in Super Size Me who eats some 3 or 4 Big Macs a day...and yeah well i thought he was a dork ...but man when you saw him talking about it... he feels FULL-FILLED (figuratively and litterally)......some people will go through anything to make money..others will want to help people and find purpose in recognition... i guess its up to u
