Vote in the poll and explain why here. Now, before I get all the complains, be aware that I can only put up 9 options along with the 10th "others" option. I'll give my pick later on.

Other, of course.
Not advocacy's sake, just that I've played only one of these, and even with a good DM it still kinda sucked. Lacked any substance other than ego-service.
Star Wars is fun though.

Though Golden Sun isn't very original, it is my favorite all the same.

Though it's more of an action-adventure series, I'm going to go with Legend of Zelda.

Of the options given, I picked Final Fantasy, but in all honesty, I do believe Legend of Zelda to be the ultimate in RPGs in the world today.

My girlfriend would agree with you on that one. I picked FF, though. With Chrono Trigger and Zelda coming in as close second and third. I wish they would have taken Chrono Trigger further.

I'm all for the Baldur's Gate series (D&D).

I said final fantasy, but mostly for their early work. Lately everyone else is catching up with the whole, "Hey, wouldn't it be nice if our RPGs had stories in 'em?" concept. They've been a pioneer and a leader in the genre since 1990 really.
I had to give a vote for D&D.

Hows about a different complaint, then. You put up 1 RPG, 1 other, and 8 computer games, IMHO. :)
Yes, I'm a crotchety "old" SOB of a "pen and paper" - how I hate that expression - gamer, who's bitter that computer games usurped the title of RPG. ;)
And I don't like D&D. Can you guess my option. :D

I'd say the Namco's Tales series is my favorite. Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Eternia are two of my favorite RPGs. Symphonia and Destiny aren't far behind.

(though I wouldve picked Tales if i had seen it before i clicked "vote"- TOS ruled!)

Well I voted Dragon Warriors. If anyone is interested in playing it online, let me know via telegram.
D&D - every RPG in the modern sense has at least some inspiration from D&D in terms of mechanics, if not a great amount. Plus, there are no anti-Zelda propoganda tracts :)

My all-time favorite RPG's are Star Ocean II (PS) and Chrono Trigger (SNES). My favorite game series though is probably Might and Magic (PC), followed by Final Fantasy. The FF series would have been best if not for the later installments. The newest ones just have no originality left.

I'm with you on the Elder Scrolls and Morrowind. I'm not really the gaming type, but good lawd I've spent some serious time on that game in the past couple of years. And everytime I play I come across something new. That's the cool part. I had to start the main quest over again recently and and I was kind of happy about that. :D

P.S.
Phantasy Star... released by Sega around 1988 and the series is still going today.

I'll agree that Phantasy Star was a great game, but the ones that followed didn't hold the same standard. I found it ironic that the 8-bit game had (IMO) better graphics than 2 and 3 on the 16-bit system.

Have you played PSO EPI&II for the GC or Xbox or EPIV for the PC (Not EPIII it is the devils work)? They bring back the oringial high standard, even if they seem to have gone off in some wierd tangent.

The launcher is based around a simple milled steel tube, 40 mm in diameter, 953 mm long, and weighing just 7 kg. The middle is wood wrapped to protect the user from heat and the end is flared to assist in blast shielding and recoil reduction. Sighting is usually optical, but both passive infra-red and night-sights are available and an iron sight is always fitted.

Trinity Universe (Trinity, Aberrant, Adventure, by White Wolf)
I'd have to go with the original World of Darkness 2nd edition (as opposed to the new World of Darkness 2.0), but I did hear very good things about that series as well, and Exalted is fun too. I've taken the systems from most the WoD 2nd edition games (Werewolf, Vampire, Changeling, Mage, Wraith) as well as Kindred of the East, Sorcerer's Crusade, and the Big Book of Beating Ass, along with Exalted, and created my own combat system for it, been playing general 2nd ed WoD online with the same people for 7 years now on a program called Palace.

Spiderweb Software (http://www.spidweb.com)'s Avernum/Exile series. It is the only game I have encountered so far that placed more importance on plot than on fancy graphics.
Well, except Angband, but then again, that's because Angband has no graphics at all. It hasn't got a very deep plot either.

The Fallout series is still unrivaled in my opinion. I just hope that Bethesda doesn't screw up with Fallout 3.

If we're talking PnP-RPGs here: Call of Cthulhu or Buffy *blushes*
Computer/Console-RPGs. Hm. That's a tough one. For serieses as a whole I'd say a close tie between Fallout, Baldur's Gate.

Granted I'll get stoned for this one by the numerous fanboys...but Zelda isn't an RPG. It's an action/adventure game.
