As a bit of a Pop Tart (no not the breakfast food, a girl who loves pop), just wondering what people think the best pop record is of all time.

Can't remember the last time I listened to pop... Not even sure what that is anymore... Duran Duran, back in the 80's? Can't remember any titles, all I can see are the videos in my mind... oh well... ;)

See Emily Play by Pink Floyd.

Written by Syd Barrett, the God of psychadelic music; can be heard on the albums Relics and Echoes. Was released as a single, but I can't remember when exactly.

See, I wouldn't have classified Pink Floyd as pop...

Hrm... I've thought of Alex Chilton/Big Star as the definition of "pop" for a while now. While I, personally, find Third/Sister Lovers to be just barely above mediocre, it's a cult classic that (if pop=popular) has aged fairly well for pop from 30-something years ago.

As for my favorite, why that's always changing, of course. First thing that pops into my head is Oasis' Morning Glory.

If you count rave and techno in, I would have a very hard time choosing. If Rammstein, then Engel.

I must agree that Duran Duran probably has some of the best albums, but I can't remember the names of them.

In recent pop, I'd have to give props to Michelle Branch- The Spirit Room, and her breakthrough in the middle of the "Breakout Blondes" (Jessica Simpson, Britney, X-Tina).

It really depends what mood I'm in... either Brian Eno's Another Green World, Destroyer's City of Daughters, Belle and Sebastian's If You're Feeling Sinister, or Beat Happening's You Turn Me On. Right now, I'm leaning toward Beat Happening.

As a true pure pop fan my favourite pop record is I Should Be So Lucky by Kylie Minogue.

I'm talking pure cheesy pop here!!!

The B-52's - Selftitled

So unbelievably cool. And I don't usually like poppy stuff, so that says something :D
