I've heard tequila described (quite capably) as fine old vintage battery acid.

Which said, I prefer Gran Centenario Anejo and some other tequilas to many single malts.

Depends on the mood:
Pub? Guiness
Shooter? Tequila shots, Russian Roulettes or Orgasms (kinda sweet - don't ask)
Classy? Red wine
Sophisticated? Whiskey or port

While I was working at the nightclubs VK Cherry, Orange and Blue were all popular with the guys.
You found Black too sweet? it's the most alcoholic of the lot, I can drink it but don't like it much...in fact I've gone off Reds 'cos I prefer VK Ice which is sweeter still (and cheaper). I drink a lot of Malibu and cokes or pineapple juice, but seeing I had neither in the house...grapejuice is actually quite good with it.
Don't really like champers and I managed half a bud...cos it was free.

Recall everyone, Kahta is a high school kid who really has no life experiences to speak of.

Well, in his own words he's played lots of video games.

Granted some people (pathetic alcoholics) may do that, but the majority of people simply drink because it heightens the pleasure of many situations.

The best analogy is eating something nice instead of mushed up slop.

Mushed up nutrient slop may suffice to ward off hunger, but people of character seek to heighten the pleasure of their experiences, hence eating delicious things.

And those who are not so small minded as to reject everything that gives pleasure out of hand just because some misguided anhedonists who think that all licquor is unchristian even though one of Christ's better known miracles was to create wine so that his friends would have something to drink.

"It was the only thing hygenic to drink back then" I hear the pentacostals shout. They had fire back then, didn't they?

Besides which, after several thousand years of alcohol consumption our bodies have evolved to handle it. In fact, to drink about 2 drinks a day, of whatever liquor, is better for you than drinking nothing. At about 4 drinks a day you hit the point of diminished returns.

So, drink up, health nuts!

Most doctors I know socially tell me that they're obliged to say one or two because then people will take that to mean that 3 or 4 isn't so bad. Like when you have a friend who's always 30 minutes late, so when he wants to know what time to meet you, you quote him a time 30 minutes before you'll show up.

They tell me that really, for most people, drinking 4 glasses a day is, healthwise, the same as not drinking at all. 2 drinks is the best.

I am a christian. I go to church on sundays and wednesdays. I also drink, though I waited until I turned 21. I've read the bible and all it says is don't be drunk all the time, thus indicating that drinking sometimes is okay. I absolutely love Makers Mark (the best whiskey ever), AMF's, Motivators, Slippery Nipples, and shiraz's, riesling's and champagne/sparkling wines, just definitely not all together. I only drink once or twice a week and I only make out with random guys once ever couple of months. As long as you don't have to drink to be happy, drink on! ;)
