I love Limewire. Is there anything better that you would recommend? Which one do you use?

I like bittorrent, but I HATE having to download an entire album when I want 1 song.

That's why KazaaLite was better, back when I had it. I lost it when a hard drive crashed and haven't been able to find the non-spyware-infected versions anywhere.

I use DC++. Never had any viruses or incomplete downloads, and I can always find everything I want.

DC++ is the greatest thing in the history of man. Of course I only use it for legal purposes, but it is still incredible.

I agree. I was introduced to it by a European friend of mine, because most Americans aren't aware of it... and I was amazed, it's a bit complicated at first to understand, but in the end, it turned out to be a blessing. I recommend it to everyone now when they're looking for a download client.

What's with the huge share requirements just for logging onto a server?

Anyway, I use SoulSeek. It's great, and you can find lots of rare stuff, depending on the users that are logged on. Vinyl Rips aplenty, if you know where to look.

Legally? sure...

Anyway, BitTornado is quite fast for torrents. I also like to use Exeem, which has pretty much everything from the now-defunct Suprnova.

If you want anything that Suprnova had, Exeem has it. Well, 80% of what it had, anyway.

I used to go to PunkHC and PunkTorrents for some quality stuff, but they're preventing people from uploading RIAA stuff to those sites, even though they're in the U.K. and Germany (which makes them exempt). Bah, damn RIAA. Bastards.

Years ago i used Morpheus but now it's Kazaalite. A friend installed and set up DC++ for me but i lost it when i had to reformat. Winmx is ok too - with that you can download the program off its website...

It depends on the server; if you take the time, you can find great hubs with low sharerates. Considering most hub users are running their own box all day long, it's a small price to pay for quick, easy and running downloads all day and night.

The RIAA can't get you for downloading stuff from PunkTorrents and PunkHC, simply because nothing on the sites is affiliated with it.

But you also have to share a lot of files, or they'll ban your sorry ass. Keep a good ratio, or you're dead.

My ratio at PunkHC is like 19.26. I uploaded a lot of stuff, but it got wiped out when the server went down. It would've gotten wiped out anyway, since most of it was RIAA stuff.

I uploaded some really high-quality Ramones and Sex Pistols stuff, and even a very good copy of London Calling.
