As I sit here(well, actually more like lay here) on my bed at 1:01 A.M(hey, I get the next week off! Cut me some slack!), listening to Los Amigos Invisibles, I wonder what the NS communities favorite Latino song is. There are plenty of 'em, and alot of 'em are better than most English songs(in my opinion). You guys have to have at least one Latino song that you know.

Its hard to select just one. Whatever it is, its most likely by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs (or maybe Cafe Tacuba). I think Im gonna have to say.....

"Manuel Santillan, El Leon"

or the second part to that song

"Matador"

both by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. But its not easy to choose, and I could easily change my mind.

*sigh*

It seems that the midnight crowd lacks musical taste...

I don't recognize any song, or any person, as "latino." Perhaps you should actually specify a real musical genre.

well...from a latin P-O-V u all either have no musical knowldege or have a distorted perception of what "latino" is. Nek is not latin music.

Los amigos invisibles are awesome.

But check out La gota fria by Carlos Vives
Or some stuff by juan luis guerra or oscar d'leon or even old ricky martin stuff to get an idea on what latin music is...at least how u refer to it

Latino music is music from Latin America, and Latinos are people from Latin America.

Brazil, Belize, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana all count as latino countries, even though they don't speak spanish.

Let's see how the noon crowd does with this...

Can't say I've heard many Latino songs, but Volverte A Ver isn't bad. If anyone could point me in the direction of some Latino hard rock/metal I'd be a happy bunny.

Sepultura's 'Ratamahatta' kicks some serious ass...

but for a truly Latino sound, its hard to beat the Flamenco stylings of Oscar Lopez's 'Perdoname' - seriously, if anyone is interested in some excellent guitar work, download this and give it a listen! Amazing! :)

I second that.
But when it comes to music, I find I can never decide on a favorite. Manu Chao is great, but Marc Ribot and Los Postizos are also a recent find of mine. I just can seem to pick on song.
