I want to buy a Mac. (The other post reminded me) The problem is, I don't know much about them. Such as: what is a good one and what is bad. So, any help?

Good decision, first of all. Go to
www.apple.com

I recommend the G5. Best computer ever. Fastest as well.

For a good, solid piece of hardware that's easy to use and has loads of features, I'd go with the eMac G4.

Its reliable, powerful, easy-to-use, and should be well within the price range of a new Mac user.

I reccomend the latest version of Mac OS X for the eMac, and upgrade whenever applicable.

And remember friend...once you go Mac, you never go back!

The G5 is faster though...And it's newer...Slightly more expensive...

Nice rhyme.

G4 is good entry level. Since I take it our friend here is new to the Mac world, I felt that a solid peice like the eMac would be the best option. Hell, it's what I use, and I've been using Macs for ages.

But...If it's within your price range...HELL YES go for the new G5! That thing is a piece of work I'll tell you!

I've used a Mac at school, but nothing special. I wish I could convince my dad though, so I have to buy it myself. Could you give some price quotes?

unless your not in america, in which case youll have to switch your apple store. But as for which one, since you seems around my age (in school) i would probally suggest an eMac because its good but is relitivly cheap, but you may want to get an iBook, if your looking for portability.
