If the USA was a comic book character...

I was thinking about how I would characterize the Unites States of America as a comic book character and came up with one that fits well in my eyes.
U.S.A. = The HULK!
Can be smart and innovative and do good things for people but when you piss it off it becomes an irrational, angry, reactionary baby that is unstoppable and does way more damage to the world than was ever done to it.
If you don't agree then what would you come up with?
What about other nations? Who could you compare them to?

How does a weak nerd who was turned into an elite superhuman soldier by biological modification and was frozen until our time remind you of the US? Besides the fact that his name is clearly Captain America.

How does a weak nerd who was turned into an elite superhuman soldier by biological modification and was frozen until our time remind you of the US? Besides the fact that his name is clearly Captain America.
Because he is supposed to represent everything that is "good" and "noble" about the United States. The idea that anyone could become anything they wanted if they worked for it is supposed to be represented by the idea that a weak little Army private became this big superhuman hero. And the fact that he goes out and fights evil and defends the little guy and promotes truth and justice and all that mushy goodness is something that the United States supposedly does as well.

Captain America reminds me of America simply due to his attitude. "I am the best, I will bring justice to the world" type stuff.
I would say that the US reminds me of Batman, especially after 9/11.
1.WTC and Pentagon Attack=Bruce's parents getting killed
2.Breaking UN proceduring and attacking Iraq=Ilegally fighting crime to satisfy his thirst for revenge through people who weren't directly involved with the murder of his parents.
3.A bunch of advanced gadgets to help soldiers see and kill enemy forces=Batman's fancy gadgets.
4.The conservative and liberal "opposition"=Batman's inner struggle of prevention from becoming that of which created him.

Why are we using all Batman analogies?
Because I thought Batman was the next best idea next to Hulk, and it helped bring other characters into the scene easier. Although I still think my idea of why the USA is Hulk is closer, but it doesn't help with determining which other countries fit into the current life story.

Most European countries and American liberals thought that communism was going to triumph over capitalism, so they labeled the US an evil, imperialist, powerhungry tyrant. Liberals might not agree with communist ideology currently (at least for the most part), but that's not to say they were against it while communism was still seen as a viable political system by many. I'm sure we can all agree to this being true. Since I was writing in the past tense, I thought it was understood that I was referring to the leftists of the past. I was not, by any means, stereotyping the liberals of today.

The word 'liberal' is tricky. For example, I'm a classical liberal, or what one would call a libertarian in America. I'm most definitely anti-communist. Let's not play the word game here. We know quite well I was referring to the anti-capitalist, anti-America types who abhorred us when we fought against communism and continue to do it as we fight terror.

Maybe you know that's what you were talking about, but my grandfather probably would have socked you one across the jaw if you'd said to him what you said earlier.
Liberal is only a tricky word because in the '80s people artificially attached meanings to it like "pinko Commie-lover" that aren't any more true than assuming anyone conservative is a bible-thumping book-burner.
If you mean "anti-American anti-capitalists", say that.
EDIT: Well, maybe not socked you one, but he would definitely have been torqued at you.
Maybe you know that's what you were talking about, but my grandfather probably would have socked you one across the jaw if you'd said to him what you said earlier.

hahahahaha "socked you one across the jaw"... I just imagined that
I stand corrected. Not all liberals are pinko commies, just like not all conservatives are warmongering bible-thumpers. I live in California, so I guess I see more of the pinko-commie-lover-I'm-moving-to-[insert foreign country]-because-I-hate-Bush types than the more moderate liberals. :)
I would most definantly put the US as a blend of Superman, Punisher, and Batman.
And Mr. Fantastic.
As for reasons? We don't need no stinkin' reasons... but combind most of the reasons given, and you'll get my reasons.

What I wanna know is, who'd be Spider-Man, the greatest superhero of 'em all?! India, maybe? Or Austrailia?
I was thinking about how I would characterize the Unites States of America as a comic book character and came up with one that fits well in my eyes.
U.S.A. = The HULK!
Can be smart and innovative and do good things for people but when you piss it off it becomes an irrational, angry, reactionary baby that is unstoppable and does way more damage to the world than was ever done to it.
If you don't agree then what would you come up with?
What about other nations? Who could you compare them to?USA = Captain America / Superman... Pompus, full of itself, quick to judge others... yet unselfish in help and generous to a fault.
Japan = Wolverine... for all of it's faults, they have a code of Honor that they strickly adhere to.
Middle east = Titania (yeah a villian) strong, powerful...yet whiney, wants things their way.
Europe = Captain Brittan... tries to be like Captain America yet doesn't wann seem to be trying to be like Captain America. A good comrade and ally.

What about Judge Dredd?
A neo-fascist who doesn't even slightly consider that what he is doing might be wrong - the most important thing is to uphold his vision of the law, regardless of the cost. And if that means nuking a city or two, he'll have no guilty conscious afterwards.
