No idea if it's Colorado or not, I got sent them in an e-mail and thought this was the best place to put 'em.

There's a place called Dog Village near me(ish), though I quite like 'Pity Me' in Durham.

Gay Mills, Wisconsin
Hicksville, Ohio
Hooker, Oklahoma
Hornytown, North Carolina
Lawyersville, New York

Well, I suppose it will give me something to busy myself with once I figure out Finnish, then. I would do Icelandic next, but I can't seem to find a proper course in it, so either Welsh or Irish is next in line.

The Picts were a racial grouping that were swamped by the Celts and had their last homelands in the far North of Scotland... despite the oft repeated claim that the Celts were the original inhabitants of the British Isles andwere subsequently dominated and oppressed by the incoming Anglo-Saxons when we actually look at the history of settlement we see that the story is somewhat more complex than that - the Celts too were just another invader 'race'.

Go bloody New Zealand!

(85) TAUMATAWHAKATANGIHANGAKOAUAUOTAMATEATURIPUKAKAPIKIMAUNGAHORONUKUPOKAIWHENUAKITANATAHU
A hill in New Zealand. This Maori name was in general use, but is now generally abbreviated to Taumata. The name means: the summit of the hill, where Tamatea, who is known as the land eater, slid down, climbed up and swallowed mountains, played on his nose flute to his loved one.Given the hilarious mis-pronounciations of Maori place names by tourists (Waikanae (why-can-I) become Wahh-KAHN-nAYE), it would be fun to try this one on for size!
