Let's talk about love: All the good things and the bad things that may be
I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a discussion about love with my fellow NSers. Here are some topics we could start:
-Is there a such thing as true love?
-(for the married) Are you glad you got married? Do you think it was worth it?
-What's love got to do with it(sex)?
-What is love?
-Can you fall out of love?
-Do you think it's necessary for a commitment/vows to be official(marriage)?
-Should a person be married to raise a child?
I have my own ideas which I may share later on...
In here, Preebs. In here!

-What's love got to do with it(sex)?
Well, I believe when employed properly, sex is an expression of great love and a component of any healthy romantic relationship.

1. I believe so, but I can't quite put my finger on it... >.>
2. (skip, for obvious reasons)
3. Probably nothing, I think. It is, although, a good form of entertainment for those who love each other ;) As well as for those who want to procreate.
4. To be honest, love is a very difficult thing to define.
5. It's better to love someone than to "fall in love" with someone; falling in love seems like a form of infatuation...
6. Nope, it's not necessary, but people have their own ways of celebrating their love :)
7. No, marriage is not a requirement for raising kids. Do you see cats waiting 'till marriage to procreate?

Nowadays marriage is an economic decision. Lovers can't afford not to get married. I hope other countries are not as much against non-married couples living under same roof.

Sex is not entertainment, at least most of the time it isn't. I beleive sex is the highest expression of love two people can experience. But, of course it doesnt always have to with love. I think it is only entertainment for those who don't love each other.

I disagree. I believe it IS possible for two people who love each other use sex for entertainment.

Is there a such thing as true love?
Yes, there is such a thing as true love, and unfortunately, only those who have ever found it once know what it feels like. I've been lucky enough to feel it twice in my life, once in the past and now currently.
What's love got to do with it(sex)?
It depends. Sex isn't about love and vice versa, but some people do equate it with love. Personally, I feel sex is secondary to love. Making love to someone you love is ten times more powerful than any one night stand can provide.
What is love?
Love is completeness.
Can you fall out of love?
Never. I still love those I've loved in the past, and not a day goes by that I don't have them in my thoughts, but I've moved on from that love and onto the future.
Do you think it's necessary for a commitment/vows to be official(marriage)?
No, a simple declaration of love is more powerful than any commitment or vow made to your significant other.
Should a person be married to raise a child?
No. Single mothers and fathers raise perfectly capable children just fine.

-Is there a such thing as true love?
Every time i hear of couples being together for decades i am inclined to think so.
-What's love got to do with it(sex)?
Its the final spice to perfect the dish.
-What is love?
Attraction and understanding, body chemistry (hormones and opiate), feeling safe and lightheaded at the same time, thinking "we" instead of i... All that and more rolled into one.
-Can you fall out of love?
Seems so. I dont experience that, but the way some people switch from love to hate in an instant if they are dropped indicates such.
-Do you think it's necessary for a commitment/vows to be official(marriage)?
No.
-Should a person be married to raise a child?
No. Marriage is fine and such, but not neccessary. A wholesome family life is not guaranteed by a piece of paper.

Woops, sorry dude. My computer froze. But ooh, love. :D I'm very much in love, so be prepared for some sap!
- Yes. I mean, it's not like in the fairytales, but if you love someone completely, that's true love. It may not be the one person forever, or it may be.
- Not married yet, but planning to, in like 5 years when we've both finished studying! :p
- Sex can be an expression of love, or sex can just be sex. *shrugs* As long as everyone's consensual and understands how things relate it's all good! ;)
- What is love? Um, I think Ill bail here. It's indefinable, and no doubt means different things to different people.
- Yes, you can falll out of love.
- No, I think being committed is enough.
- And no, of course people don't have to be married to raise a child. As long as the child has a good home and people who care for him/her that's all that matters.

1. Yes, but it eludes the majority of married couples.
2. Single
3. Sex is a wonderful gift to give a spouse. The one thing that has been witheld from everyone but them.
4. Love is living for the betterment of another, regardless of personal cost.
5. No, because love is a concious choice. I can choose not to love, but it is never an accident that I love someone. If it is never an accident, then all that can happen by circumstance is that I may not feel like loving.
6. I do. It is the recognition of a covenant that is carried until death.
7. Not necessarily, though it may be helpful.

Sex is only really good when its with someone you love.
Love is when that person feels like a bright star inside your heart.
Yes.
Yes.
I think it would be best.
