I Finally Went To The Doctor!

For those of you who know, I've been trying tog et my mother to take me to the doctor for over a week and a half. I told her I can barely breathe and that it's physically painful to breathe. Well my mom decided instead of making an apointment for it, she'll just see if they can fit me into the schedule since I already go to the clinic once a week. Well, that doesn't work too well. So for the past week and a half I've been so angry for that and other reasons. I realize that she's busy but wouldn't it make more sense to just make an appointment? We'd end up spending as much time either way. Finally, today they could fit me in. So what did happen? I ended up getting 5 shots like normal. Then they requested that my blood be drawn(which I had done) and that I have a swallow test done. It turns out that I may have esophagitis. As for my legs, I'll have to see a different doctor for that. Needless to say, I'm quite proud of myself that it's more than what she had thought. Argh! If she would have just listened to me! :)

Do you suffer from acid reflux (the esophagitis)?

I go to the clinic 2 a week to get shots. 4 shots a week for allergies. 3 shots a month for asthma. That's all the detail I'll give you. The whole situation is long and complicated.

Esophagitis is related to Acid Reflux but I guess it's more severe. I am medication for AR but it doesn't work. So basically my voice is "raspy", I lose it once in a while, and I feel like I can't breathe and have a sore throat. It's not a very serious disease at all. It just sort of defeats the thousands of dollars in medication they put me on to improve my breathing. I feel like I always have. I don't feell like I can breathe any better than I used to, which was poorly, but according to my doctor I'm breathing better than I ever have.

Doctors are notorious liars. I have a lump in my neck, and my doctor said it would probably go a few months after the infection that caused it stopped. It's been 3 years. Although that's nothing compared to the breathing thing.

I do agree with you on the doctor thing. This really is my mom's fault though. Basically, my doctor told her that it was just AR if the symptoms didn't get worse after we had seen him last. She asked a nurse/my nurse what she should do instead of making an appointment. First off, the nurse isn't qualified to give out that kind off advice. Secondly, I told my mom that it was AR but obviously it's more severe than the doctor had thought.

I've already been in the hospital. The food doesn't taste bad at our hospital. Of course, that may be because I'm usually doped when I'm there. I did eat their meatloaf though and I don't eat meatloaf. What really makes me mad is they have jelly donuts but those are usually for visitors. :(
