Sometimes I think about having children when I start thinking things like "What would happen if you raised a child almost completely gender neutral?" or the like.
But then I remember that children aren't science experiments, and that I absolutely can't stand them.

although there was this girl that tricked me into thinking a kid of hers was mine, after she got pregenent she left me to go live with her mom and I didnt question it and did all I could for the kid, then she sent the state after me foer child support - and they were asking for more than I could afford plus I was doing all I could so I got mad and asked for a genetic test to see if I really was the father and it turned out I wasnt so she got moded!
poor kid though - the mom I heard went to jail soon after for check fraud and drugs I think

Nah. Most of them don't really bother me, as long as I don't have to interact for long periods of time with them. Though if a kid is screaming about a mall and pitching a fit and the parent isn't doing anything, I WILL glare at them.
Kazcaper
16-03-2005, 20:37
They're not THAT bad.
Oh yes they bloody are! They use all their parents' resources, are generally ungrateful and even if not take more effort than is proportionate to their gratitude, they seem to constantly scream in public places, they insist on running everywhere, they have irritating high-pitched voices (that are usually unnecessarily loud), instead of contributing to household finances, they actually usurp them, they smell and dribble from the mouth and you have to clear up their shit, both literally and metaphorically. Yuk :headbang:
More importantly, however, they are not born with an immeadiate ability to engage in advanced speculative discourse upon intellectual topics, and instead trade on insultingly inadequate substitutes such as, "Mummy, I wet my nappy" ;)
I have two daughters. I want six kids in total. We'll conceive two more, and adopt two. Yay!

Hey, if you've got a kid that's young enough still to be in nappies and coherent and thoughtful enough to let you know when they need changing, you've got a result! (You've also got a a kid that doesn't need to be in nappies any more, but that's by the by.)

I don't want children or need children.
1. I am a lifetime bacholar. I've been in the dating game for 21 years and I've gotten nothing but bad results with women. Not to say I don't like women, I just don't see myself marrying anyone anytime soon.
2. I really really really really really really really like flying, and aviation is NOT a cheap hobby. I hope to own my own airplane someday and take weekend trips. This cannot be done with a child. Heck my Dad just now got started on his Hot Rod (real cars, not the toy ones) collection. Hes working on a Shelby Cobra right now.
3. A wise person once said "You can either have the world, or have children." Call me selfish, but I want the world!

I've got three, one's 24 and married, one's 19 and in the U.S. Air Force, and one's 16 and a straight A student.
As for the other stuff it's all a mute point. No longer married, got sipped a long time ago, and am not interested in raising any more, or somebody else's kids. Been there done that.

You just do not like kids or...???
As I am still a high school freshman, I do not have kids, nor do I intend to for quite a long time, and in fact I'm still a virgin. (Which is more of an accomplishment at my age than you might think, for my generation anyway) Unlike my mother, I'd like my early twenties to myself, thank you... but I do want kids eventually - at this point, I anticipate marriage at 26-27 and kids shortly after, definitely before I turn 30.
I don't have kids and I'm not sure if I ever will. I may not even be able to have kids. If I did have kids, I would only want one.

I dunno. On one hand, taking care of screaming, crapping, uppity little hellions isn't really how I like to spend my days. On the other hand, having my own little, receptive offspring to mold in my image and to keep my legacy of antisocial socialism is a very appealing idea...
Good thing I'm still a teenager.

Believe me, I understand because - if my children were younger and at home, I would never pay attention to them because of the computer. Knowing kids these days, they'd call it child abuse. lol

I wouldn't even dream of having (adopting) a child as long as I'm in school, and I still have at least 2 years left. And 24 is way to young (for me) to even dream of starting a family. I also think that being a doctor, I'm not going to have time for children, they would just be raised by a nanny. I'm not a 'motherly' person really....
I'm still in highschool, so I certainly don't want kids for several years, but I do love them like crazy. I work in a day care and even though they get cranky and messy and sick they're just amazing.
