It won't begin until September, and it will be gradual. However, it is a withdrawl. Thoughts?

Personally, I feel it is fair. Berlusconi is obviously a political animal, and needs to survive. He realizes that the best way to do this is to try and give everyone a liittle something that he wants. I feel that the US will have plenty of warning, and should also find this fair.

I think Berlusconni is doing what he thinks is best for his political survival. And anyways, we'll hopefully be able to replace the 3000 Italians with trained and equipped Iraqis by then.

There is six month's notice, so I think it should be easy. The Italians themselves probably won't mind training some as a trade-off.

THIS U.S. citizen would like to Thank the Italian people for their Assistance in these very difficult Times as well as recognize their Right to end their participation whenever they see fit.

Thank you again for the sacrifice, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

However, that was predictable. It was a campaign pledge of Viktor Yushchenko.

We're probably going to see most of the less prominent membes of the coalition withdrawing as the Iraqis start to take over more and more of the security of the country.

As far as I know, however, Berlusconi will stay in office because there is no viable opposition. It's hard to become a politician in Italy without being a little corrupt, and Berlusconi is no exception. While I wish it weren't true, it's been the Italian way of doing things ever since WWII ended. The strangest thing is that the Italians don't seem to care.

Ah, there we go...that's the kind of crazy batshit world trashing thing I was expecting...

But, nope. I'll take the rational one. Though I oppose the war and the way it's handled that was even handed. For once I'll take the best response instead of the worst.

Well, the Italians will be missed, but it seems there will prolly be at least 4,000 more Iraqi troops on the ground by them(and that's at least).

However, it's kinda sad that our only remaining European Mainland ally, save Poland, is pulling out.

I hope the Terrorists don't bomb Warsaw or something O_o

I thought that Poland pulled out shortly after they where 'forgotten.'

I guess Bush's euro-tour didn't work out so well....(though its probably too early to tell about that really.)

No, the Poles are still there.

It's just the damn liberals make the Polish people feel sad! I mean, when I ask 95% of liberals why they hate/forgot Poland, the answer was "Because Bush likes it." I mean, come on! Why do you guys hate Poland just because Bush likes it. WHY!?!?!??!

Why?

So that even more Americans can die?

*sniffle* I am ashamed that someone from my own state is saying that....

*breaks down in tears*

But, then again, Massachusetts is the most Liberal state...and Boston is the capital of the Democratic Party...

The Poles are one of the most Nationalistic nations ever. They(or I could say "we", seeing how I am of Polish ancestry) believe that they/we are the best nation in Central Europe. And at least out of the former Warsaw Pact.

I don't know, man. I live in Santa Cruz (which makes Berkeley look like Texas as far as political leanings go) and cruise the boards and the only time I've ever seen anyone hate on Poland was just then when you suggested it. I've seen people make fun of the 'You forgot Poland' comment, but thats hating on Bush, not Poland, as it missed the point of what Kerry was saying...but thats another issue.

And anyhoo, you want Iraq to descend into Chaos? Like it or not, boys and girls, we gotta finish the job. Remember Vietnam? We left there. You know what happened? Vietnam became this little shit-hole of a country that is only now beginning to recover. 30 years later.

Germany is teh best in Europe.

Poland kicks Germany's ass.

In fact, the only reason why Germany conquered Poland was because the first time(when it was created) there was no Poland, so that doesn't count. The second time, the Poles were attacked from both sides(by the Soviets and the Nazis), and both times they were surprise attack. And yet in a war against the Soviets in the 1920's, we wiped the floor with 'em. And our army of a few hundred thousand held out for a month against the overwhelming German forces.
