Im 16 and im 310 lbs 6' 5" (my football coaches love me!) my whole family is like friggin tall and has pure muscle and served in every war the US has been in, Heavy Infantry!, beleve it or not my dad is 6' 6" and hes 58 and was taller in nam and was a areal recon pilot that flew in choppers (bell jetranger, HUEY) in the army. His fav part was calling in B-52s, and napalm! His motto was always "you havent lived life untill u have rode into combat playing loud offensive music and called in a napalm strike on some one that you know for a fact wouldent hesitate to do the same to you"

5'8 is average, surely? It makes sense because at 5'8 I can reach supermarket shelves but my feet don't get cold in bed :)

Edit: I'm 14 so I have more to grow. I'm not annorexic, I don't gain weight. I eat A LOT, and I don't put on pounds. I work out and lift lots of fairly heavy stuff and don't gain muscle mass.

Supposedly, I've still got some more growth in me, even at 22, because my feet have gone up 3 shoe sizes in the past 3 years, so they tell me my growth plates or something haven't set and I might shoot up a few more inches.

My dad was 5' 11 3/4" which always made him feel hard done by, not quite 6'. So when I passed 6' he told me that at least I would not have that bugging me for the rest of my life. So what do I do. I go and move to culture that measures in metric units. I am now just a littlew bit short of 190. Karma I suppose. :(

My brother wasn't even 5'8" when he turned 17, and he grew a lot. He's about 6'1", and he stopped growing a few weeks after he turned 19. It was the same way with my two uncles and various grandpas (my great grandpa was about 6'6").

Six inches in two years is a lot, but that's how it happens for us. Lucky me, eh?

Yeah, most people usually stop growing at around 17. Lucky for me, though, 'cause I've got my mom's growth genes (her brother Joe's about 6'6", and he was barely 5'11" at my age, while her other brother, Olie, is around 6'4" and wasn't even 5'10" at my age).

Though I often see these kids in town who are about 5'10" - 5'11", and it's a bit odd that they won't grow much more. Usually, you don't grow too much after you turn 17.

I hope it's not the same for my friend, who's about 5'7". I hope he actually grows more than that...

5'8" is quite tall for a girl. It's average for an American Male, actually.

Though you should see some of these guys from Michigan --- This one dude from Detroit was in Wal-Mart last week, and he must've been 6'6" and 340lbs. He was a giant. Then, there's my dad's friend, Jim, also from the Detroit area. He's about 6'4" and 320lbs... Huge guy, and he really likes to eat.

I know that I'm gonna be big --- but I doubt that I'll be that big!

I got my moms side's big ass bones so I'm practically unbreakable. (tried really hard as a kid) Unfortunately her metabolism went with it...

My cousin Jordan was 6'3" at 16, and he hasn't grown since. He's a toothpick, though. I can't picture him lifting weights.

And more about my "inheritance"... My dad had horrible metabolism. He could eat one meal a day and sustain himself. I have a very high, active metabolism, and I could easily eat five or six meals a day, and lose weight by doing so.

I weight myself one day, and I'm 159lbs. I eat about four meals that day, and then I go to sleep. I get up in the morning, I'm extremely hungry, and I go to weigh myself, and... 157lbs! Two pounds!! It happens all the time. There's just nothing I can do to stop it, and I like it.

And I inherited my mom's bone structure --- very dense, very strong. I fell off of an exercise machine when I was 6, and landed right on my head... It got bruised, and bled just a tiny bit (only because some skin was scraped). I fell over seven feet right into a concrete slab, and next to nothing happened. Not even a concussion.

If you're 6'5", you probably don't need any kind of Martial Arts training... All you have to know is how to kick ass. And if you're above 6', that shouldn't be all that difficult.

Actually, no, you're quite close to the average height for adult males in the US - 5'9" AFAIK (source (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/about/major/nhanes/growthcharts/clinical_charts.htm): CDC growth charts - 50th percentile for males age 20)

Actually no. Gangsters over here seriously wolf pack their opponents. I know of several occassions where big guys from the US (including a Marine) took on a little Japanese gangster dude. Those guys either backed down and called up large numbers friends or had large numbers on hand in the first place. In most cases, the big guys got the holy crap beat out of them but 20+ little Japanese gangster dudes (including a number of cripplings as well as at least one death I know of).
The big guy's defense is to grab the gangsters cell phone and smash it fast, otherwise....

I'm 6' 2 1/2". I weigh 155-160. I eat an average amount of food, possibly a little less. I gain muscle mass like crazy. In my strength and conditioning class It's my third time taking it and I still gain muscle like it's my first. I have a body that is built for muscle, but until recently I haven't put any effort in to gaining muscle mass, so I am rather weak compared to what I could be, but when I started lifting I was doing a full workout, when everyone else was complaining about being sore I wasn't sore at all.

On the subject of metabolism, I know a guy who's 6'6", and weighs 145 lbs. He eats like a pig as well - an average day's food for him consists of at least 2, normally 3 main meals, plus breakfast, lunch and god knows how many snacks.
