Some computer problems

Normally i would look it up on the internet...but i get too many weird results, so i'll trust one of you guys instead.

1. My sound Card got busted, and today i just got a new one, although it is one from an older computer...i thought it worked, but when going on newgrounds, there is no sound on it. But when i play a game, the music and sound effects come up there.

2. Video is too bright, when playing a video on Real Player, Windows Media Player, etc. The playback comes bright, and semi-distorted.

3. My Volume control manager has been lost... aside from the volume control on the speakers, i would also have the one on the desktop, how do i bring it back.

So can anyone help?

Need more info.

what brand/type of sound card is it?
what OS (Operating System) are you running now?
What OS was on the PC that the sound Card came from?

Do not remember, how would i find out? I could go ask the person i got it from...but then you'd have wait until tommorow for the answer.

My OS is XP

And i don't know the OS it came from, possibly Windoes 98.

Ok maybe i'll have to deal with the sound card issue later.

But what about the brightness on the screen when playing some on Real Player or windows media?

And where do i get access to the volume control?

Maybe you need to go to the web site of the Sound Card company and download the latest driver. Sometimes, this is where you'll get the control panel from to access all of these options.

A sound card shouldn't make videos brighter, either, so I'm not really sure what's wrong.
