BEIJING, China (CNN) 2035 -- On the 30th anniversary of the passing of Chinese legislation authorizing the use of force if the island of Taiwan attempted to declare independance from the mainland, the United States 6th Carrier Battlegroup headed by the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan and the Chinese 1st Carrier Battlegroup headed by the Mao Zedong are taking part in an unexpected showdown 100 nautical miles south of the Chinese shore.

"It's hard to tell the ships apart, there are American destroyers and carriers side by side with Chinese destroyers and carriers, American and Chinese fighters are preforming awe inspiring formation flying about three hundred feet off the deck above us." reports Natsuki Chang, a new addition to the CNN family. "It's truly beautiful, only a few years ago these sailors were ready to kill each other."

Today's event marks the latest in a series of improvements between the relations of the big three superpowers, America, China and the European Union. The second cold war officially ended in October 21st, 2025 with the signing of the Greater Earth Peace Accord which ensured Taiwan's democratic political freedoms while surrendering certain economic resources and promising to never demand independance.

"The Chinese Empire has finished it's period of military build up and expansionism, the Chinese people remain strong and proud. Our new relationship with the United States and the European Union only reinforces this." The Chinese President said in an acceptance speech today following his second term re-election. China's Democratic and Civil Rights reform were hard fought, but concessions between the Communist and Capitalist parties have ensured the empire will continue to use a hybrid system for decades to come, to the chagrin of the W.T.O.

In 2291, in an attempt to control violence among deep space miners the New Earth Government legalized no-holds-barred fighting.

Liandri Mining Corporation, working with the NEG, established a series of leagues and bloody public exhibitions.

The fight's popularity grew with their brutality. Soon, Liandri discovered that the public matches were their most profitable enterprise.

The professional league was formed; a cabal of the most violent and skilled warriors in known space, selected to fight in a Grand Tournament.

Now it is 2341, 50 years have passed since founding of DeathMatch. Profits from the Tournament number in the hundreds of billions.

You have been selected to fight in the professional league by the Liandri Rules Board. Your strength and brutality are legendary.

The time has come to prove you are the best; to crush your enemies; to win the Tournament.

Just imagine for a moment what an alliance between China and the US would mean. We could jointly enforce a total ban on war, for example. No nation or combination of nations could even hope to stand against us. World-wide peace under the Chinese/American Alliance! What a thought! :)

I could just imagine a joint American/Chinese/European Union task force completely eliminating terrorism. Besides, if China starts hanging out with the U.S. and E.U., there would have to be some political and civil rights reform, we on the other hand, would benefit from a new wave of anti-xenophobia.

Some people think this is the beginning of WWIII. I think everyone could benefit from two new super powers on the block and the U.S. will get a breath of fresh air to maintain it's super power status.

The trouble is, that China gives a rat's ass what happens to Arabs.

It might very well work out like this:

We ask them for permission to waste North Korea.
They ask for Taiwan in trade.
We ask for a free hand in the Middle East without their interference at the Security Council.
They ask for something else in trade.

More likely than a WW III scenario.

The EU, while having the capability for becoming an economic superpower, posesses neither the cpability nor the will to become a military superpower, IMHO. China, on the other hand, has always understood that dependence on the military might of others can sometimes be a dangerous proposition.

That might be a plausible scenerio. Your quote on Chinese giving a rats ass about arabs. That is 100% correct. I have asked this very question to my Chinese suppliers in conversation. They view them as sub par to the Chinese. This of course is'nt my opinion of Arabs. I dont volunteer that I'm Muslim myself. In fact they are fighting muslim seperatist also in China. Terrorism does happen there to.
To tell you the truth the Chinese and American people have alot in common. There isnt much difference in my opinion on the two. They are good proud people. I think that an unexpected peace may come between our two nations. This is of course after getting better understanding of national goals and agendas of the two nations.

Problem Being (albeit slowly) taken care of.

And i'd love a battle between both air groups.. the US would obviously win, but i'd bet we would see a very nice engagement!

What makes you think French subs are that good? US and Russia have the best subs around, and Russia can't afford the upkeep on theirs. Because of the threat of Russian subs the US has developed terrific ASW capabilities.

Sure there is. Find the sub and sink it before it can launch. Why do you think we have attack subs, and ships and aircraft with ASW capabilities?

We tracked and continue to track Russian subs on a regular basis.

They are not stealthy enough. Additionally, no new Russian subs have been built in over 10 years. Most are not in service at this time.

The Kursk was supposed to be the vanguard of the Russian re-entry into patrolling the Mediterranean. Because of the disaster, that re-entry is still on hold.

Still think the Russian Navy is all that?

If you are trusting the French Gov to Publish all about thier nuclear-Sub...Why dont you just ask them to give you the Coordinates :D

Its like the moron who said We blow France away...and since all their Subs are Docked at Port...they sink at the same time...

I mean why spend billions on stealth Subs that are extremely dificult to track...and leave them all at port...a place they are going to hit anyways...

and since they are so stupid...maybe their Official Web site tell you how to track them...and give you the location while they are at it :gundge:
