Have you ever seen a car in a tree?

As I was on my way home tonight, I was rather startled to notice off to my right, a car had gone off the road and, since there is a steep hill there, it was lodged in the tops of several trees. Someone else had already stopped and was calling for help. I've seen some bad car wrecks but this had to be one of the weirdest and I hate to say it, funniest. I assume whoever was driving had been drinking--a lot, because this is a normal suburban street, and the roads are nice and clean, no snow or ice or even rain! So, there's a lesson--don't drink and drive or you may wake up in a treetop.

I've never seen a car in a tree, but I have seen a car hanging from electrical wires by one wheel.

Yowza!

Some years ago I saw a convertible flip over and end up in a ditch. Amazingly the three kids in it all walked away.

I don't know how people get into accidents like that. I am a very cautious driver, so I can't relate.

I saw a deer on top of a telephone line pole. Does that count?

At the 24hrs of Le Mans a few years ago the Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR caught a pocket of air on the Mulsane Straight and literally launched in the trees.

I was hoping to find video or a picture of it, but I couldn't.

I saw a plane on an off ramp once. That was kinda cool.

I have seen a car in a tree, it was wrapped around the trunk about halfway up. Once they removed the car they basically just used a hose and washed what ever was left of the driver away. I read in the paper that the impact was so bad the biggest part they found of him was a tooth embedded in the steering wheel/dash board.

Reminds me of the moose that got caught in the high-tension wires before they got pulled tight. Hung by his antlers and died. Really weird.

How do animals get up there in the first place? I doubt a few prankster would do it, because those animals are HEAVY!

My dad managed to skid on the ice and flip the car when he drove off a slope in Denver.

Of course, he was returning pillows to his friend and was so surrounded by fluff that he came out entirely uninjured.

(Just felt the need for a happy note in a thread about, well, depressingness)

That's just bizarre.

Nope, I haven't been anything remotely like that.

I once saw a car wedged sideways between two trees on one of the back roads up here during winter. Guy slid out on some ice and rolled his Jeep at the same time, and the thing went sideways through some trees and got stuck. They had to chop one of the trees down to get it out. The guy was perfectly fine, as I understand it, and the jeep took minimal body damage.

I saw a guy drive a car up the support cable to a power pole. And when I was driving to work when I was living in Florida somebody landed a plane on I-95.

One of my friends survived one of those before. He woke up with and realise the back part of the car was missing. Luckily he was driving alone. Not drunk, but speeding and went over a pothole really fast and lost control.

Don't speed on shitty roads.
