My answers:

No, but that doesn'y prove the fact that happiness doesn't exist. If it didn't we'd all be just sitting around not trying to do anything.

(1) Do you believe in happiness? God yes! What a pointless life if you can't even believe happiness exists.
(2) Do you feel that you are happy? Yep
(3) What do you think brings happiness? Having a good balance of things you enjoy in your life.
(4) Is anybody ever truly happy? Of course. Why do people think this so hard? People can be truly sad, so why not truly happy?
(5) Do you have anything else to add question-wise here? Are you a grumpy person who enjoys being unhappy so they can whine?
(5) Do you have anything else to add question-wise here? When will my unhappiness end?
I suppose it will end when you find your true love or something like that.

No. I enjoy being happy, when I AM happy. Or maybe happiness is an illusion and therefore I cannot enjoy it. I guess I just love giving myself headaches from endless philosophical debates.

1.) Yes, I believe in happiness. I don't believe in having a perfect life free from flaws but I believe happiness is when you can accept the negatives and still be happy.
2.) Right now? I'm not ultra happy but I am happy with my life. I am feeling slightly regretful but I'm also positive about them and am moving on from the past. I'm in the healing process towards happiness after having depression.
3.) .... it varies for different people. For myself it would be friends, having fun with people, love, simple things like a sweet letter, memories, helping people, making people smile, being secure in myself, being loved and wanted, feeling like I have a direction, feeling like I am worth something and make a difference, enjoying life, having the positives in life outweight the negatives... then insignifcant things like music, chocolate, cute animals, shopping, walks etc etc
4.) Yes, I've been truly happy.
5.) Nope.

I think that being happy probably is greatly influenced by genes... I have been very happy the last few months without any depression, although there are many things in my life that would bring a normal person down. I simply dissasociate myself from them. Its probably going to hurt me in the long run though.

Some inspirational quotes and poems for people who aren't happy right now. You will be happy-there is hope, I promise.
The Smiles To Be Found
Sometimes you feel
Like just fading away,
Slowly flickering out
Day by day.
And sometimes you feel
Like just ending the pain,
Giving up
Instead of struggling in vain.
But there is always a reason
To carry on shining bright,
To solve all your problems
And find the strength to fight.
And there is always someone
Who will turn your world around,
Who will look inside you
And see the smiles to be found.
Dont give up
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the cloud of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst you must not quit.
"One day the sun will shine on you, turn all your tears to laughter. One day your dreams may all come true, one day the sun will shine on you."
"Hold on, if you feel like letting go. Hold on, it gets better than you know."
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow"
"Light shines even in the darkest of places"
"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us"

3)No, I don't have an ear for playing instruments.
(1) That's pretty good, for someone who's not trying hard! I tried my hardest in mainstream middle school and got a D in Social studies the 2nd semester. Do you have a lot of friends at school?
(2) Oh. I don't know what to say to that as I have never experienced that feeling.
(3) You could learn how to read music. I don't naturally (sp?) have much musical talent, but I learned how to play the piano anyway. I don't play anymore, but if maybe if you take up singing or some kind of instrument, it will bring you some happiness. I dunno, it works for me.

(1) Do you believe in happiness? Not only do I believe in it, I believe it is the very purpose for our existance.
(2) Do you feel that you are happy? Yes. Sometimes more than others, but generally, yes.
(3) What do you think brings happiness? Being physically fit (it's the endomorphins), having a job you love, accomplishing challenging goals, being around happy, positive, optimistic people, not obsessing about what other people think of you, and keeping a safe distance from worry.
(4) Is anybody ever truly happy? Absolutely! Happiness is a choice, a habit, different way of looking at the world. Like any other habit, the more time we spend being happy, the easier it is for us to find ourselves there when the choice is available to us again.
About a year ago I was listening to a neuroscientist on an NPR radio program. He said our minds store memories in emotional catergories, and when we are in any emotional state, we tend to recall memories from other times we were in that same state. In other words, happy people think of happy memories, ans depressed people think of other times they were depressed. I'm not really making a point with this. I'm just tossing it out as an interesting bit of happiness trivia.

1)Meh. I just pay the slightest bit of attention and am able to fling it back perfectly. Habit, I suppose. I have a select few friends, and a slightly larger number of people I can tolerate.
2)Lucky you.

And that's made me happier :) And I wrote that poem, it's from the heart, so I know what it's like to feel that low and I can promise that things improve.
(1) Do you believe in happiness?
Yes, happiness exists.
(2) Do you feel that you are happy?
I am neither happy nor unhappy. Emotions are quite relative, but I am never at the extreme end of the spectrum.
(3) What do you think brings happiness?
Having love and people to care about are important, as is self fullfillment, but true happiness must come from within.
(4) Is anybody ever truly happy?
If you are wholy satisfied with yourself and are not searching for happiness, then I think you are definetly happy. If you are too meticulous in defining your personal happiness, perhaps you will never be happy until you have made it simple.

Not question-wise. But studies have shown that the depressed are actually more realistic in their expectations.

(2) Do you feel that you are happy? I'm not turning cartwheels, but I'm not sad. I'm in the middle somewhere. Different reasons are the cause for this, but the main one is that I'm not in a relationship. Not saying I was always happy being in the ones I've been in, but if and when I get in the right one I will be happy in that part of my life.

(4) Is anybody ever truly happy?

(5) Do you have anything else to add question-wise here?
no, just a comment:) i'm finally starting to learn how to do that 'choose your attitude' thing at the start of the day w00t
(5) Do you have anything else to add question-wise here? Do you believe the cause of happiness is universal or relative?
A combination of the two. There are some things we all enjoy, and some things that make each of our unique selves content.
(1) Do you believe in happiness?
Yes, happiness is a feeling that is stronger then 'okay' or 'just fine'. For a lot of people, it is unusual and makes them feel somewhat high.
(2) Do you feel that you are happy?
I would have to say yes, but lately I have noticed that I'm losing some of my spirit. Lately, I've been thinking about why I'm here and what I am meant to do spiritually. I also have come to terms with the fact that my grandpa is going to die. This in general is just a bad thing because one phase of my life is over, and one phase closer to death. Cheery aren't I?
(3) What do you think brings happiness?
A group of people to support and love you(family, friends, or both), achieving your goals, and having the things you want and need.
(4) Is anybody ever truly happy?
Yes. I think you can be happy and also have other feelings. I believe that people have different parts to their spirit. One part of me is happy and positive. The other is sad and scared.
(5) Do you have anything else to add question-wise here?
Has anyone ever felt enlightened?
