Dune!!!
It was a good film, though sullied by the fact that it was based on book that was so far and beyond superior (imo).

Usually on adaptation I try and see them as two seperate entities. But I cannot in this case.

Only somewhat recent movies I've seen is The Last Samurai (great) and Something's Gotta Give (good).. I usually like anything Jack is in.

Some movies I like, own or have recorded atm are..

What about Bob--Braveheart--Apocolypse Now--Easy Rider--Scarface--Caddy Shack--Patton--Deer Hunter--Jurrasic Park--The Hustler--Cool Hand Luke--Stand By Me--War of the Roses--Forrest Gump--Hud--King Pin--Boom Town--As Good As it Gets--House of Sand and Fog--Dances with Wolves--Bull Durham--Racing with the Moon--Little Women(1949)--Grapes of Wrath--The Old Man and the Sea--Lust for Life--Spartacus--Galdiator--Julius Ceasar--It Happened One Night--Bringing Up Baby--The Lady Eve--Sergeant York--The Longest Day--The Ten Commandments--Shane--Splendor in the Grass--The Big Sleep--Father of the Bride(1950)--The Apostle--The Magnificent Seven--Good the Bad and the Ugly--Unforgiven--Godfather--Trapped in Paradise--Raising Arizona--Peggy Sue Got Married--Giant--Snatch--American Pie--Shawshank Redemption--Euro Trip--Something about Mary--Thelma and Louise--Pulp Fiction--Everybody's All-American--National Lampoon's Vacation ..

That movie was gold. I don't know why so many people have problems with it --- I mean come on, the battle scenes were incredible, the acting was great, the music was superb, and overall it was "fantastic".

I can't do a favorite. Some auteurs I like-
Kubrick, the Coen Brothers, Tarintino (but not for the reasons you think), ...crap, my mind blanked..., oh-Leone is new one I've finally come around on after really watching Once Upon a Time in the West, Gilliam, Smith (shutup).

Some I like-
Smoke, The Straight Story, Triplets of Bellville, The Bicycle Thief (pretentious, I know), Salesman...some others I'm not thinking about right now...some that have already been mentioned so I won't...
