notice everyones #1 is at 100%? Is it really possible that everyone agrees with absolutely everything about their #1 choice? I doubt it. I bet the closest match is given a 100% rating and is used as a baseline to mark the others down. Kinda misleading if thats how it is.

What is the number and nature of the deity (God, gods, higher power)?

I could have answered with both

The supreme force is the impersonal Ultimate Reality (or life force, ultimate truth, cosmic order, absolute bliss, universal soul), which resides within and/or beyond all.

and

No God or supreme force. Or not sure. Or not important.

What are the origins of the physical universe and life on earth?

I could have answered with both of the following

All matter and life forms are manifestations (or illusions) of the eternal Absolute (Ultimate Truth, Universal Soul or Mind, etc.).

and

Only natural forces (like evolution) and no Creator or spiritual forces. Or not sure. Or not important.

It wasn't an entirely accurate test. I'm an agnostic but I also have very core beliefs in Taoism.

Well we'll have to see if that applies, if we get like 6 pages worth, then it might be true... otherwise the test might be saying "Your results are (or so nearly) compatible with this, that we just raised it to 100%"

1. You might as well have picked the Ultimate truth, that can also involve no G-d. So i would go with that.

2. How could you pick both there? You either believe that they are manifestations, and that evolution was ... well there is no evolution.
or that there is.

I just think you got a little confused.

It's all a perception of reality. In this particular reality evolution is quite a real idea. However at the same time, this could be a fictional reality as a whole. Just my weird logic.

Uh, Ba'hai and Islam should be worlds apart, not sharing the same percentage.

Islam teaches men rule over women, Ba'hai teaches equality.

Islam teaches religion's superiority to science, Ba'hai teaches that there should be a divine marriage between religion and science.

Islam teaches that there should be a priesthood (Mullahs), Ba'hai teaches that there should be no priesthood.

Islam teaches strict moral law, Ba'hai teaches that there should be moral law, but it should be determined by the individual.

Islam teaches that all other religions are false and their followers are going to hell, Ba'hai teaches that all religious beliefs are valid.

Ba'hai and Islam are so much at odds that eachother, that Ba'hais and Muslims in Iran, and around the world, hate eachother. The Ba'hais in Iran are currently actually being oppressed there as well. So, that survey is totally incorrect.

Ba'hai should be where scientology is. And that's another thing... Scientology is NOT a religion. It's a cult, being run by rich people, in order to exploit people out of their money. There's plenty of reasons to believe that.

Just because it's a cult and most likely a scam, doesn't make it not a religion.
They concede, in some cases, that they aren't a religion, though. For example, in street recruiting (as that article says), if you act like a person who doesn't like religion, they'll tell you they just call themselves a religion for the text benefits.

And in Greece, where religious organizations recieve no benefits, Scientology calls itself a "philosophy", to be free of taxes.

So, no. They aren't religion, by their own standards. They just call themselves that to recruit people and get tax benefits.

Not at all. The theory will be proven incorrect when someone gets something in 1st place that does not have a 100%. Having two 100% scores could simply mean you got the same amount of matching answers for two different religions and that was the maximum number of matches you had.

Check out Ba'hai. They're a very rational religion. There's no church, no priests, no donations required, men and women are equal, science is just as true as religion, you make up your own interpretations...

And all religions are equally valid. No one religion is more 'true' than another, and anyone of any religion can be a Ba'hai.

What the? Man, you are so insanly rational now! In your other thread your freaking insane!
Or the other thread was a joke.

reform judaism is basically a more lax form of orthodox... otherwise there is no differences. Basically they're Judaism for the 20th century...even though Judaism is fine without getting rid of any of its rules.

As for Bahai'i and Islam, they're only together because of the way i answered my questions...not saying they're the same.

notice everyones #1 is at 100%? Is it really possible that everyone agrees with absolutely everything about their #1 choice? I doubt it. I bet the closest match is given a 100% rating and is used as a baseline to mark the others down. Kinda misleading if thats how it is.

Right...ok. I checked the 'story' of Unitarian Universalism, and it explains how you can be religious and UU. It's a religious site, and it wants to make you believe that, whatever you really think, you are still religious. I'm not at all though, I despise religion. I consider myself agnostic, because I really don't believe it's possible to know whether god(s) exist(s) or not. Though this site would then probably say that there are many aspects of my faith in common with [insert faith X here]. I personally think I have most in common with Therevada or Mahayana Buddhism (whichever one doesn't have a god), and even then I reckon it would score under 50%.

Pretty good, although after #18 I'm kinda thinking, what? I also wasn't sure what some of these were but anyway, I used to identify as neopagan and I still hold a lot of those same basic beliefs, just don't practice the rituals much anymore, and I've gotten UU on other similar tests, so it seems to be a pretty good test. Probably showing the top 15 would be better though because quite frankly once you get down to Mormons you're pretty much talking opposite from me. I don't know why they put that before Islam or Catholicism... quite honestly I've always thought they were kinda pretty religions that I'd like to explore. Same with Judaism, which is somewhere toward the top of the list.

Ya know... given that in every question to do with God or a deity I tended to choose the one that utterly denied the existence of a God in the traditional sense, but hey-o, never mind. I always put myself as more of a Neo-taoist or similar. Either that or Greek pagan, just because they rule.

EDIT: I retook the test, done something ever-so-slightly differently after making a reconsideration. Whilst I still disagree with the results, they are somewhat closer to the truth. Barely.

When I went to ask them they said they were more a philosphy - like Kung fu.

Though I was prompting the desk monkey a little... :D

If anyone has any question for them, let me know - they have a shop (?) just down the road...

I was just talking with my friend about all this religion stuff. she asked me "are you finding your religion based on your beliefs, or are you basing your beliefs on the 'true religion' ". How are we supposed to possible know WHAT the "true religion" is? How i see it is that in that case, since we cannot know, that we believe something and whatever religion is closest to that i guess you can say you are that. Who says what the real religion is? every religion says that theirs is the right one so how can we know??? It depends on what has gone on in a person's life. for me, there has been no proof that Jesus in particular was real so why not judaism?? its just crazy, everything. i have no idea what religion to believe. I know what i believe

I agree with you mostly. Except that it is pretty certain that there was a man named Jesus, who lived in Galilee, and was executed. They kept records of things like executions. I think his official crime was like, subversion or something.

However, as far as religion goes, anyone's guess as to what happens after we die, whether or not there's a supreme being, and who that supreme being is/isn't is as good as anyone else's.

Well, I don't know how to post my results here, sue me for not being computer savy. Basically it says

Eastern Orthodox 100%
Roman Catholic 100%
Mainline Conservative Protestant 99%
yadda yadda yadda can't remember and already exited poll.

It only chose EO and RC 100% becuause I didn't understand the living incarnation question. One incarnation meant the pope, who'da thunk.
The poll does lean heavily toward a Christian view of the world.

How the heck is it biased, if it gives you options for all... unless you have some very creative god(s) or philosophy in hand, like the matrix or something...i can assure you the test is as biased as your beliefs only.

Or is it only biased, because your results got some religions high on your list? I didn't pay attention to your results.

I have taken this twice and Unitarian Universalism was 100%, with Catholocism, the religion i was baptised in, in last place. The results were very accurate when it comes to what my belief system actually is, though Buddhism is the philosophy i lean more towards in my day to day life.

notice everyones #1 is at 100%? Is it really possible that everyone agrees with absolutely everything about their #1 choice? I doubt it. I bet the closest match is given a 100% rating and is used as a baseline to mark the others down. Kinda misleading if thats how it is.

I don't know if you saw this:
The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.

And this is what happens if you pick "None of the Above" or "Not applicable" to all the questions with a high priority.

It does not give options for all. It gives a narrowed selection of options that reflects a Chritian's (limited) view on the world and other religions. And there is no room for non-institutionalized beliefs.
I wonder what would come out if one selected the "other" option in all questions.
