Let's write a pantoum!

Sunrise is a quiet time
Pinks and golds, blues and whites
Light revealing the sleeping streets
The gate on the corner store rolls up

Pinks and golds, blues and whites
Golden windows reflect the traffic
the gate on the corner store rolls up
hot coffee, and baconeggandcheese sizzling.

Golden windows reflect the traffic
as pigeons bob this way and that
hot coffee, and baconeggandcheese sizzling
a scrap falls, and is pounced on by the birds

As pigeons bob this way and that
a small boy walks by, eating a candy bar
a scrap falls and is pounced on by the birds
as the boy wails, his last bite lost

A small boy walks by, eating a candy bar
light revealing the sleeping streets
as the boy wails, his last bite lost
Sunrise is a quiet time.

Crap! How about something simple, like a nice haiku, tanku, or cinquain?

Crap! How about something simple, like a nice haiku, tanku, or cinquain?

There's already a haiku thread, and besides, this is NOT as hard as it looks.

Literally, half the poem is written for you as you work.
