Why is the poll graph bar for coke blue, and the pepesi one red? Shouldn't it be vise versa?

I have a friend (well, ex-friend) who told me that Pepsi donated to the GOP and Coke to the Democrats, and that was why he only drank Coke products. The labels are a little reversed for such a divide, though...and yes, you can all throw pies at me for being the first to bring politics into this thread.

That said, I like Pepsi better, but I drink Coke as well. Coke has an aftertaste that's slightly unpleasant, but I don't notice it in Cherry Coke.

I'm pretty sure Coke has donated massive amounts of money to the GOP. But the reason I don't drink it is because of their long term involvement in Columbia, killing union organizers, privatizing water, contributing to the huge mess down there etc... (that and it's unhealthy)

Theres only a 13 years difference in when they were originally founded. Pepsi 1898 and Coke was 1886. Pepsico is a much larger company than Coke will ever be. You can check the business stats section for this info. Pepsi will eventually overtake Coke in world consumption. Mark my words.

This doesn't really surprise me. Neither Pepsi nor Coke are manufactured in a single, central global manufacturing plant. Thre are different manufacturing plants for different parts of the world, and they all need water, so each is going to use their local water supply for their products.

Have there been any allegations of Australian Pepsi "cutting corners"? Any strange reports of sewage lines or bad blood donations being diverted to them?

In Australia, there's no question. Pepsi doesn't even bother marketing Pepsi-cola here, Cadbury Schweppes owns the license to it. Pepsi Australia busies itself with chips...
The reason why Pepsi is sweet and coke is slightly more bitter/ has a kick is because pepsi has less caffiene in it than Coke... about 1/3 less in fact. And for all those who haven't eaten raw caffiene powder by the handful, caffiene is very bitter.
