From my personal life, karting tracks! Nothing like go-karting.

Other than that, I'd have to say Peechland, Tinks, Gide, Aerou, Shaed, Spar, Gael and the other one I doubtless missed.

Sometimes the balance of the universe amazes me. For example, how many physics equations just work, and are so simple when you compare them to the rest of the universe. Which is odd, since this sounds very much like a creationist "proof" of God. Sucks that I'm atheist and that I like maths and physics.

Id have to say that I really enjoy nature, in all of its many forms. Theres nothing as nice as appreciating the most complex array of beauty this world we live in has to offer.

Included in this, Id have to say there aren't many things as nice as seeing a gorgeous girl smiling, with light in her eyes an just a little fire to her touch. Theres something about a beautiful lady that makes all the troubles of life melt away.

Other than that, I'd have to say Peechland, Tinks, Gide, Aerou, Shaed, Spar, added: Gael, Passive Cookies, Jamil, Oksana, Gorgamin, oh hell... all of you! I cant be bothered to type all these names!! and the one I doubtless missed.

Exactly - good work Sanc!

There was this one time when I was in Canda, skiing. It was late afternoon, and I was skiing through the middle of a little valley, snow was gently falling and the sun was getting quite low in the sky.

When I looked up at it, it looked like it had a black ring around it's bright yellow/white light, and all the light that shone down had black lines in too. I don't know if my eyes were playing me, but it's the most beautiful thing i've ever seen, and i'll never forget it.

i find beauty in far too many things.
blue skies on a freezing cold day
the ocean , flat and gray before it rains,
the natural death cases that i work on, before they are made up,they look very very peaceful.
men. far too many of them ;)
i could go on and on and on and on, but what i would rather choose to say is :
appreciate your surroundings. once one ceases to become critical, doors open up .

For me of course I love sunsets.

By the far the most beautiful thing that I have done or seen is canoenig on a calm placid lake. The rhythm of the pattle dipping into the water, the peace absolute, in untouched wilderness for me has yet to be surpassed.

Watching the sunset while on the beach is awesome. If you ever go to NZ, head north to 90 mile beach (actually it's only 60 miles but we're not allowed to mention that). It faces due West. You can drive on it, so it's easy to find a secluded spot. Watching the Sun sink into the Tasman Sea is pretty damn spectacular.
Another lovely thing is lying out in the grass on a Summer's night and watching satelites and shooting stars. Coming from the countryside where this was so easy to do, I didn't realise just how awesome it was until I got to HK. I'm lucky to see the full Moon here, what with all the air and light pollution.

I live in Ireland and to me the most beautiful thing is coming home from a long trip and flying over all the green fields and lakes and all the things that make you homesick and then taking my kayak out into the sea as soon as i get home and just floating there looking back at everything looking so peaceful. The only noise is the lapping of the water against my kayak. Its the most hypnotising thing i've ever experienced. At that one moment nothing seems wrong and everything seems possible. Nothing can ever beat that feeling.

The sad thing is, you could only ever see them as 2D images. To get close enough to see them in true detail would take forever, and to see them as 3D would be impossible as you'd have to get within the cloud to get close enough. i could be vulgar (lol), but i'll keep this clean:

1)A Green Bay Packers victory

2)Family gathered around the Christmas tree, handing out presents and generally having a good time

3)The view of the stars whilst standing on the Rainbow Flowage levy in Northern Wisconsin. (i'll describe):

You drive down a little county road into the middle of nowhere... take a right onto this little dirt road... drive in and park before you drive into the water.

Get out of the car. Hopefully you will have brought a flashlight. Head into the woods on a 5-foot-wide path. Walk for about 15 minutes. STAY ON THE PATH!

You will see a clearing ahead... soon after that you will have reached the Rainbow Flowage levy, which is a narrow (maybe 20 feet wide) strip of land, maybe an eighth of a mile long, which is bordered by a very large body of water on one side (the Reservoir) and a very large pond on the other.

You can see the entire sky... it is an awesome place.

Seeing genuine love in action is tops but I also very much enjoy the following:
Sunsets in a variety of locations

Standing on the top of a 14K+ ft. mountain top and looking out over the world

Lite fluffy snow falling and gracefully covering the ugly winter ground like Christ covers our sins

Sunrises from a variety of locations

A Bald Eagle in flight over a high mountain river

A flock of Indigo Buntings

A solitary stag, elk, Big Horn sheep, mountain goat or moose on a mountainous rock outcrop with a background of menacing clouds

A moon siloetted loone on a glassy night lake

Any variety of mountainous splender (high Rocky mountain aspen turning colors in the fall

The Aurora Borealous

A Star lit night on a mountain top with no light polution

A breaching Right Whale

A new born seal with white fur on a snowy white iceburg

Most any and all physical atributes of my wife :D :D :D :D :D

I could go on and on, but these are some of my favorites

Dali even went so far as to create a secret recipe for the oil painter's glazing medium that included wasps as the "magic ingredient", such was his fascination with them. And ants. He really believed social insects held a secret worth trying to figure out. (Read "50 Secrets of Magic Craftsmansip" if you're an artist of any kind. Great advice.)

I know its terribly cliche, but...

There's this certain look that m'love gets, when he's particularly happy/comfortable/love-y. His eyes just light up, and crinkle up at the edges, and he gives this smile...I love that look. Its a wonderful feeling, seeing that look, and knowing I did it. Of course, after that we just stare sappily at eachother for a few minutes, and that's quite beautiful as well. :p

Second to that, I'd have to say this one sunset I saw. I was in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, and it was my last day. I was at the very end of the island, and there was a pod of dolphins playing, just as the sun was setting, in more shades of pink and gold and blue than I thought possible. And the entire beach seemed to sing with it. It was incredible, and I can still remember it perfectly to this day.

Agreed. THose same people need an art education. This month's issue of one of the most respected art journals (forget which, read it at the library), has a great article on this same topic you've raised.
Dali was the bridge between surrealism and pop... period. Without Dali, no pop.

And his later works are much more relevant today than they used to be based on the current direction modern art has taken in the past 10 years.

Plus he's dead now, which means he can be taken seriously without shame.

actually, i dont know what the law is with adoption and transsexuals in the UK...because, you can register as the "new" sex and get a new birth certificate, passport etc...so i dont know, maybe youre able to adopt as a female with your birth certificate and all...i just dont know

me, i think sunsets (and the sky in general) are absolutley stunning and can't get enough of em - looking out on a beautiful pink & orange sky right now :)

The view out my window right about now. It's 10 in the morning on a beautiful sunny day. Gum trees, dry grass a few leaves falling for autumn... sun shining all around, well u can imagine, i think it's beautiful any way... *glares at anyone willing to disagree*

Apart from that: a smile, seriously people faces are so happy when they smile. But yeah lotsa things are beautiful so i don't know what THE most beautiful is...

Hong Kong at sunrise and at sunset. Absolutely beautiful.
Yep, taking a cruise on Victoria Harbour at night is awesome. If you can't afford a private cruise, just get the Star Ferry over to Tsim Sha Tsui and back. Costs $2.20HK (so around a quarter or $0.15Euro) each way. Has to be the cheapest Tourist ride in the World.
The buildings here put on lightshows which are incredible. The whole building lights up and changes colour, with lasers lights flashing from the top.

As it turned out, I wasn't able to have children. But, from when I first started thinking of my future family, before I had a clue that I wouldn't be able to conceive, I planned on adopting. My philosophy was why have more children when there were so many who needed someone to love them.

Adoption is wonderful!! One of my sons and his wife adopted both of their children. So it looks like I passed the idea along. I don't know if any of the TV stations in your area run a program regularly showcasing children that need a good foster home or adoptive parents to love them. But, if you have ever watched one of those programs and wanted to take all of the kids into your home and heart, then adoption is right for you. So many of these kids have had a rough start. To watch them open up and grow and succeed with your love and guidance has to be one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.

Don't feel bad. People aren't always able to step back and take an objective look. Sometimes we all just go with our emotions...right or wrong. What's important, is that you have matured enough to recognize your former foster families' good intentions. That's a really big step. I'm glad that you and your birth dad are able to be together as it seems to be where you wanted to be.

The New York City skyline, especially at night. I think the skylines of big cities are the most beautiful things in the world. To me they represent life, they represent people. It's like when you walk into a house and it just feels lived in, big cities feel lived in, full of hopes, fears, joy, sorrow, laughter and tears. They are the hustle, bustle, and energy of humanity.

One of three things:

1) Looking into the eyes of the girl I love, and feeling happy with everything, everywhere, everywhen.

2) When I climbed to the top of a mountain in the Rockies last year, and just as I got to the top, the sun came out, the clouds lifted, and for miles around all I could see was the sun reflecting off of snow-covered mountains. Absolutely stunning, probably the first time scenery has truly taken my breath away.

3) An open road, a sunny day, no speed cameras, no police, and my kit car = perfect day. B-Road blast anyone?

I agree, Zooke. And it's deeply touching and humbling when they come back to you years and years later and say, "Dad, I don't know what on earth would have happened to me if you hadn't married mom [ or if you hadn't adopted me ] and I just have so much admiration and love for you and what you did for me." My oldest step-daughter said that to me just a year or so ago. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried.
