This has nothing to do with nationstates, but I've heard a rumour that The Pixies are playing a secret gig tonight in Manchester (UK). Does anyone know anything about this?

if things go as planned (ie they get confirmed and i have enough money to go for the weekend)...i should be seeing them play Leeds Festival in the summer...some rumours suggest that might be their last gig...

Are they any good? They rock so friggin' hard! I saw them on this reunion. They're still great, even if David Lovering dresses like a stage magician and is so out of practice that he drops drumsticks while spinning them.

They are wonderful, but I don't know if you would like them. While they do have some poppy songs, they are far from the overproduced rock you hear on the radio.
My guess is that, if you don't know who they are, you will not be impressed upon your first listen.

Aren't I jealous now!!! Saw them in Vienna back in '90. Great! I'd STRONGLY recommend it if you were in Manchester.
